Now that we're halfway through the season let's take a look and see how each team

is fairing.

Bones

Los Pollos Blancos of Arlington

(Then: 7, Now: 6)
After coming out of the gate hot, 5-1 over their first 6 games, the Pollos seem to have lost their heads.
Mike Houle started off the year exceeding expectations at the plate and on the mound, and even his
new little chickies, Guluzian and Wizard, were performing better than expected. Unfortunately for
them, though Scott Martell is still looking magical, they have all taken a step back the last 2 weeks,
and find themselves sitting at .500.
Grade: B (Though on a losing streak, they are out performing pre-season expectations. Look for them
chickens to keep on clucking.)

Worcster WeeMen
(Then: 4, Now: 3)
While the no. 2 overall pick Jon Anderson, and team GM Colin Amidon haven't been up to par on the
mound, they both have been exceeding expectations at the plate. Combine that with how franchisee
Kurt Willette has been crushing the ball, the Weemen have been able to stay towards the front of the
pack in the Bones Division.
Grade: A (If their exceptional batting keeps up, and their pitching comes around, this may be the year
of the Weemen.)

Brockton Bullies

(Then: 1, Now: 4)
Going into the season, with both their aces returning to Brockton, and the addition of the Shirtless
Wonder, the Bullies were the most feared team. Unfortunately, their elite pitching has fallen off. There
are rumors Jason Murphy is nursing/resting his arm to avoid fatigue, but even Philbin and Jmart haven't
been spectacular.
Grade: C (There's still time left for them to make a push, climp up the standings, and potentially secure
a playoff berth.)

Chelmsford Cougars
(Then: 6, Now: 5)
After a fairly uneventful draft, in bringing back Dave Sullian and adding an unknown, the season
started off shakey, and they lost their 2nd round (again). Thompspn and Laroque were able to find their
stuff on the mound, and all three remaing Cougs dug in at the plate, and started going deep like it was
going out of style. In the midst of a winning streak, the Cougars sent Laroque to the Chiefs for a
gamble on utility man Jeremy Ellis. The trade has seemed to pay off (for both teams), and breathed
new life into Ellis' game.
Grade: B+ (Maybe overlooked before the season, but these guys are making some noise.)

Grenade

Nashoba Valley Sasquatch

(Then: 2, Now: 1)
When you add 2 players who came with-in inches of winning the winter title, to an already beefy line
up, good things will happen. Projected to be atop their division, the Sasquatch are living up to
expectations. First round pick Zach Goodman is retiring batters with unbelievable movement, and
while interim GM Dave Tammaro has been off galavanting across the globe, Matt Mullen has filled the

shoes of being the number 2 starter very nicely. With Kevin MacDonald finding his stroke, this is a
batting line-up with absolutely no holes.
Grade: A- (The 'Squatch have a good chance to get back to the big dance at the end of the summer.)

Flushing Pond Bassholes

(Then: 5; Now: 7)
Fresh of winning the cup, with their best 2 players returning (the NEAWL MVP and the Grenade
KAAPE winners), the 'Holes should be floating in the upper half of their division. Whether it's the
outdoor weather having an effect on them or they are still hungover from partying with the NEAWL
cup, they look like a shell of themselves.
Grade: C (If Megow and Fish can come around, then Basshole fans shouldn't have anything to worry
about.)

Tewksbury Huskies
(Then: 3, Now: 2)
In their innaugural season, the Huskies are off to a good start. No. 1 overall pick Devin Amidon has
been consistent on the mound, and is finding lots of way to get on base. While Nick O'Keefe and GM
Dave O'Grady started off the season seeing the ball well at the plate, they both seem to be fighting to
drive runs in consitently. Luckily for them, sophmore Daryl Wolfenden is showing he belongs, picking
up the slack at the plate with some clutch hitting.
Grade: B+ (Nipping at the heels of the Sasquatch, the Huskies are making moves and looking to
become the alpha of the pack.)

Lowell Chiefs
(Then: 8; Now: 8)
Though their record doesn't show it, the Chiefs are slowly becoming a force. After a rough start, GM
Jon G, dealt his no.2 picher/utility man Jeremy Ellis to the Cougars for Lowell Alumn, Tadd Laroque.
Even though league rookie Chris Smith had been putting up good numbers, Tadd's additon to the team
generated a much needed spark. The Chiefs seem to have a new life, and are ready to fight it out with
any team any time.
Grade: B (Look for the Chiefs to make a good run for a playoff spot.)
