Legal and regulatory constraints:

Handling of stories involving:

Minors
News reports that involve minors that are under the age of 18. For example the
murder of baby p whose name was kept a secret until the last word was said
which is when the public found out his name was peter. However other cases
such as the James Bulger cases because of the victims and attackers all being
underage names where released straight away.

Contempt of court
Contempt of court, often referred to simply as "contempt", is the offense of being
disobedient to or disrespectful towards a court of law and its officers in the form
of behaviour that opposes or defies authority, justice, and dignity of the court.

Libel and defamation

Libel is when you are to blame on a certain incident and defamation is when
some has lied about or against you in the court of law.

Coverage of elections
Is where the news covers the elections however they are not allowed to be
biased or take any sides and have to be equal to all parties involved in the
elections.

News values:
Story priority:
The reason for the Tunisia story being one of top priority in Britain at the moment
is because some of their citizens have been injured and killed. However if it to be
people from another country they would still have priority on the news but not as
high up.
Immediacy:
The immediacy of the news coming out on the radio was within hours because it
was such breaking news it was reported out almost straight away.
Follow-up angles:
Information was given out on the attack until 5 days later which is when the
public started to hear about what happened and all the inside details.
Availability of audio:
An audio clip was released a day later with audio proof of what was happening
with interviews and talks to the locals on how they feel and to hear the side of
things.

Newsroom policy:
Different newsrooms will all have a different take on the story some will say that
it was a terrorist attack others will talk about the victims and explain more detail
where others may not.
Human interest:
The interest is that people who have been either killed or injured may have their
names released which will then cases a connection with the public as the story
and news may become more relatable and also stir up more emotion when
knowing the peoples background so they wouldnt just be name or a face.
Public interest:
This is for the interest of the public and just daily everyday things in which the
public should maybe consider or look out for.
