Next, the turbine throttle pressure is reduced from 2400 psia (165 bar) to 2200 psia (152
bar). Again, the change in enthalpy is calculated across the boiler by finding the difference
between the steam leaving the boiler and the feedwater entering the boiler. This calculation
is:

1467.7 Btu/lb (3413.9 kJ/kg) - 79.5 Btu/lb (184.9 kJ/kg)

= 1388.2 Btu/lb (3229.0 kJ/kg)

Reducing the throttle steam pressure increased the enthalpy difference across the boiler.
