Skeletal

System Paragraph

The skeletal system provides support for your
body. It protects internal organs and body tissues. Your
skull protects your brain and eyes and your ribs protect
your heart. Bones provide the structure for muscles to
attach so our bodies are able to move. Bones have outer
layer of hard bone. On the inside is a layer of spongy
bone called bone marrow. Bones will bend but if you fall
wrong you can break a bone. A broken bone is called a
fracture. Bones are alive inside of our body! They have
their own nerves and blood vessels, store minerals and
are made of living cells, which help them grow and
repair. Did you know that babies have more bones than
adults? At birth we are born with 300 bones but by the
time we are an adult we only have 206!

The Skeletal System

Ms. Harrison

The skeletal system is very important for
humans to move and grow! First, the skeletal
system provides support for the body while it
protects internal organs and body tissues. Next,
bones provide the structure for muscles to attach
so that the body is able to move. Third, bones
have an outer layer of hard bone. On the inside is a
layer of spongy bone called bone marrow. Bones
will bend but if a person falls wrong, they can
break a bone. A broken bone is called a fracture.
Also, bones are alive inside of the body. They have
their own nerves and blood vessels, store minerals
and are made of living cells, which help them grow
and repair. Without the skeletal system, we would
be just muscle and bone and wouldnt be able to
move!
