Counseling and Guidance Center

Arcadia Public Library

Capstone Chinese Presbyterian

Arcadia High School has a great

counseling and guidance program
that is ready to help your student with
any questions they have regarding
academics. The Counseling and
Guidance Center provides an
abundance of services including
additional academic and linguistic
support. The Counseling department
and individual counselors can be

The Arcadia Public Library is

located at 20 W Duarte Rd, Arcadia.
The library is open to the public and
is a great location to receive private
tutoring or find great literature in a
number of languages; including
Mandarin. The Arcadia Library also
includes a host of material to aid in
learning English. The Library offers
tutoring programs, English
conversational skills classes, and
additional references of English aids,
resources, and tutors. Visit the

Capstone Chinese Presbyterian

Church is located on the corner of
10th Ave and Longden Ave in
Arcadia, 91006. Capstone is a
Chinese church that has its doors
open to the community. Whether you
are looking for a Bible study to join
or an event to practice your English
in another environment, Capstone
always has its doors open. Events at
Capstone include meals, fellowships,
and other various activities.

Private Tutoring

Arcadia Chinese Parents

There are many private tutors from

both local high schools and
universities. Many of them can be
contacted through AHS or the
Arcadia Public Library; but other
helpful websites of qualified peer
tutors include: www.wyzant.com and
www.towerofenglish.com. These
two websites help locate local
members of the community who are
willing to assist with learning
English!
Although this program is not
sponsored by either AHS or the
Arcadia Public Library, both
organizations have members who are
private tutors.

One of the most prominent resources

that the city of Arcadia provides, is
the Arcadia High School Chinese
Parents Booster Club. This
organization is an excellent resource
not only to learn and improve ones
English; but also to continue in
community within the Chinese
culture. This organization meets
regularly between 6:30pm and
8:00pm in various locations
throughout the week. Events include
conferences, seminars, student
activity planning, and group
gatherings. This organization can be

AHS Tutoring
Arcadia High School provides
students with additional linguistic
and academic help in the library all
day with the AHS Tutoring program.
This program consists of teachers and
staff meeting with students to review
and practice assignments; as well as
peer tutors who aid in the tutoring
sessions. AHS Tutoring is available
for all AHS students and is held in
the library every weekday from 7am5pm.

CELDT Summer Testing

AHS provides summer CELDT
testing to help ease students
transition to class. CELDT summer
testing is a great way to aid in
students academic success.
