Data Flow Diagram

Definition :
A data-flow diagram (DFD) is a graphical representation of the "flow" of data through an
information system. DFDs can also be used for the visualization of data processing (structured
design).
On a DFD, data items flow from an external data source or an internal data store to an internal
data store or an external data sink, via an internal process.
In our assignment we are going to give an example of Data Flow Diagram For further
explanation:

University Admission ( Data Flow Diagram):

Explanation:

The process starts with a student, he/she sends application forms.

Then these application forms are investigated by the University authorities.
If the student comes on merit and the officials perceives the forms correct then those
applications are accepted.
If not then a rejected letter is sent to the student.
The next step after the acceptance of forms is student registration and the accepted
students receives a letter, informing them about their acceptance.
Student Enrollment list is prepared and they are informed about their schedule and
orientation.
The last step is Collection of Fees.
Fee details are provided to the students.
