Even though sitting for meditation is some thing one

can do by ones will, it is not effective unless the


mind is ready for it. The minds capacity to stay it
with self or with the object of meditation is called
Dhyana Yoga. Karma yoga is a means for preparing
the mind and therefore karma yoga is a means to
dhyana yoga. So, there is a connection between
external sadhana that is karma yoga and internal
sadhana that is dhyana yoga for moksha.
In meditation we use the mind .It is a mental activity.
If the mind is hijacked by the terrorists of likes and
dislikes (raga and dvesha) it is obvious that it is not
available for meditation. So, karma yoga is the
means to take care of likes and dislikes and to free
the mind relatively from the grip of likes and dislikes.
Karma yoga is the means to the person who wants to
mount the horse of dhyana yoga told in chapter 6.
