Puente: Obra de arte especial requerida

para atravesar a desnivel un accidente
geogrfico o un obstculo artificial por el
cual no es posible el transito en la
direccin de su eje.

Viaducto est generalmente reservado

para el caso en que esas estructuras
viales se construyan por necesidades
urbanas o industriales, o para evitar el
cruce con otras vas de comunicacin.

Subestructura: Es la parte del puente que se encarga de

transmitir las solicitaciones al suelo de cimentacin, y
est constituida por:

Estribos

Muros de ala
