Initial as received at Wood group.

Received valve at our work shop , with data sheets
No, cross- section drawing was received.

Initial Inspection:
Valves were stripped to components parts,
Sweep blast clean and inspection carried out,
Request sent to OEM for Spare parts GAD drawing(,on 28th Aug, 2011)
We received reply from OEM , but no quote from as yet,
Hopefully we will receive quote only by next week.
Observation:
All internal metal pressure containing components are pitted and scoring
All Lip seal found damaged
Broken and seized Stem into the cylinder in one valve.
Work Carried out:
Buffing and polishing done on all internals to minimize pits and scoring.
Manufactured lip seals as per existing design
Skimming and lapping carried out as required,

Reassemble valve with complete new seals.

Test carried out, tested.
Result:
Test result leakage rate is 13 ml per min. and allowable is 0 .45ml per min.
This is due to pits on sealing areas,
Conclusion:
As we expect a long waiting time to get feed back from OEM , we decided to manufacture two sleeves
from material UNS G 41450 which exceed the properties and strength of original Mat UNS G 41300.
The cylinder which is also found pitted on the sealing area will be repaired to eliminate pittings.and scoring
New lip seals will be fabricated, Hence original integrity of the valve will not be changed
Hopefully we can achieve better result to meet acceptable limits as per .Leakage classification Class VI
