VDP400/500 Firmware Update Instructions

Step 1
Double-click on LiveSuit.exe

Step 2
Click on Select IMG

Step 3
Select the firmware update file (Example: vpd400_1127.img) and click on Open

Step 4
The path for the firmware update file will appear in the Img field.

Step 5
Switch the battery to the OFF position and connect the USB cable from the VPD400/500 to your
computer.
Step 6
Click on Update.

A notice will appear to backup any important data first before proceeding with the firmware
update. To backup your files first, click on No and repeat Step 1 above after you are done. Click
on Yes to continue with the firmware update.

Note: If you are updating the firmware for the first time, you will need to install a USB driver. If
you do not install the driver, it will cause the update to fail and display a No USB Connection
message. The USB driver is located in the UsbDriver folder in the LiveSuit_en folder. Follow
Step 7 to Step 11 below to install the USB driver. Otherwise, skip to Step 12.

Step 7
Before the update will start, a USB driver will need to be installed. A Found New Hardware
Wizard window will pop up. Select No, not this time then click on Next.

Step 8
Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and click on Next.

Step 9
Click on Browse and select the UsbDriver folder located in the LiveSuit_en folder then click
on OK and Next.

Step 10
While the USB driver is installing, you will get a message stating that the USB device has not
passed Windows Logo testing. Click on Continue Anyway.

Step 11
Once the USB driver has been installed, click on Finish

Step 12
After the USB driver has been installed, the VPD400/500 firmware update process will continue
and display with a percentage status progress.

Step 13
Once it has finished updating, it will display the following message. Click on OK.

Step 14
Do not disconnect the USB cable. The following message will appear on the VPD400/500. Once
the VPD400/500 setup has completed, it will reboot automatically.
