GRADES
GRADING: RCPS has converted to standards-based assessments, grading, and reporting for middle
grades. The purpose of the standards-based report card is to communicate progress towards mastery of
learning standards in a more specific way as well as to refine focus on individual academic skills.
CALCULATION OF GRADES: Grades are either Progressive (70%) or Summative (30%). Classwork,
homework, quizzes, etc.. Are considered progressive. Test and Projects are considered Summative. The

FINAL GRADE.
