Set Induction
The New Teacher
1. Teacher possesses as a new teacher and asks the pupils the
directions to the canteen.
2. Students respond by giving simple directions.
3. Teacher introduces the topic of the day.
Presentation
Activity 1
1. Teacher introduces the focus words such as turn right, turn left, walk
straight, first exit, second exit, third exit, roundabout, junction and
lane using pictures.
2. Pupils repeat the words they hear using correct pronunciations.
3. Teacher regroups pupils into groups of 4.

4. Teacher hands out the direction signs in envelopes to each group.


5. Teacher says the word and the pupils show the correct direction
sign.
6. Teacher teaches the focus words explicitly.
