Mar. 1 – Mar. 5, 2010
This week we’ll read What is in the Hedge? pg. 220-227, Mystery of
the Night Song pg. 232-251, and Make Some Music pg. 254-255.
REMINDER: The 1st Grade play is this Friday the 5th at 1:30.
Please read with/listen to your child read each day. Remember to have
your child practice retelling the story. Also, please time/listen to your child
read a passage from the red fluency folder each day. I will put more
passages in the folders this week. The goal is for first graders to read a
minimum of 60 words per minute or more by the end of the year. The students
also have the DOLCH Word list to study. They’ll be tested on List 3,4
& 5 this week.

Reading Homework for the Week

• Monday – read What is in the Hedge? pg. 220-227, do Day 1 on the
homework sheet and study sight words.
• Tuesday – read Mystery of the Night Song pg. 232-251, Words to
Know pg. 230-231, do Day 2 on the homework sheet and study sight
words.
• Wednesday – read Mystery of the Night Song pg. 232-251, Make
Some Music pg. 254-255, do Day 3 on the homework sheet, and study
sight words.
• Thursday – read Mystery of the Night Song pg. 232-251,
Author/Illustrator pg. 252-253, do Day 4 on the homework sheet,
complete Spelling Triangles, and study sight words
