This was the Bible for the Religious Leaders
of Jesus time.
OT Genre- History
Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings,
1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther
These 12 books tell the history of the OT time
period. They are Chronologies. There is some
overlap.
Major Prophets
Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations,
Ezekiel, Daniel
Minor Prophets
Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah,
Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah,
Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi
The minor prophets are sayings made
by these prophets and are short in
length. Most can be read in one sitting.
They are called minor because of size
not importance.
NT Genre- Gospels
Matthew by Apostle Matthew
Mark by John Mark
Luke by Dr. Luke
John by Apostle John
These are called gospel which means good
news
It is a narrative of Jesus life that should
strengthen our faith in Jesus.
NT Genre- History
Acts by Dr. Luke
This is a partial narrative of the early
church. It is not complete since it
only deals specifically with a few
missionaries.
