Amur

ALTAs conservation
programs include
anti-poaching,
compensation of
livestock, fire-control,
public awareness
through education,
ecological and
biomedical research

Panda

There are many

conservations for
pandas that support
their breeding and
all their needs. A
new program has
recently been
introduced to
China. The
population continues
to grow in China
which means they
need more space so
they start to do
construction in the
Panda's habitat, so
they have started to
conserve strips of
land for panda's that
aren't aloud to be
used for human
construction.
WCS is working to
save sea turtle
species around the
world. They focus on
maintaining and
protecting their
habitats to ensure
they have a place to
live and to be safe.
They have created
protected areas
where they have
found most breeding

Do you
think this
is
effective?
Yes I do
think this
is
effective
because in
the last 20
years the
Amur
leopards
population
has
increased.
I think is
effective
but I dont
thats
enough to
help them

happens and
continue to raise
community
awareness and are
training people to
help them research
and protect the
Leatherbacks. WSC
works with
communities near
sea turtle habitats to
reduce poaching,
develop alternative
livelihoods and
protein sources, and
create local
management plans
for sea turtle
conservation.
Effective conservation
efforts have seen
black rhino numbers
inch upwards in
recent years after a
long and devastating
period of hunting and
poaching. Expanding
existing protected
areas and improving
their management;
Establishing new
protected areas;
Translocating rhinos
to creat secure, viable
new populations;
Improving security
monitoring to protect
rhinos from poaching;
Improving local and
international law
enforcement to stop
the flow of rhino
horns. Promoting well
managed wildlifebased tourism
experiences that will
also provide
additional funding for
conservation efforts

We are working
to improve
cooperation between
Nigeria and
Cameroon for
protecting the
subspecies
In Cameroon,
we contributed to
initiatives that led to
the establishment of
a new sanctuary in
the Kagwene
Mountains. WWF is
also supporting
government efforts to
supervise the
management of
Campo Maan
National Park in
Cameroon and
encourage
sustainable use of
forest resources in its
buffer zone. In
Nigeria, the Nigerian
Conservation
Foundation, a WWF
Affiliate, is working
with communities in
the Cross River
National Park.

Future projects
will focus on
establishing protected
corridors of forest
habitat that will allow
safe movement of
gorillas between
different groups
