Students will be placed into groups of four with each group being given
a specific disease or chronic condition to research. The group will
prepare a poster summarizing their research and will present the poster
at a class.
Each students is expected to contribute to the research for the poster
and to take an active part in the class presentation.
For example, a poster on CHF would include statistics on morbidity
and mortality; dollar amount to healthcare system annually; a research
article from the last 5 yrs describing an effective method for educating
patients on CHF Self-management; four to five each teaching points to
be taught to patients, caregivers / family prior to discharge to selfmanage their condition. Student groups will also develop a summary
handout tool such as a refrigerator magnet, with just essential points
everyone should know about CHF.
