For new students who enroll after their 9th grade

Any student enrolling as a senior without previous

years of community service will not be eligible for the

community service certificate or cord.
No more than 50 total hours of on-campus service

during the school day can count towards your

community service for the 4 years.

Attention Freshman
If you decide this year NOT to begin your

community service, you will:

NOT be able to go back and make-up or do

extra hours to make-up your freshman year.

NOT be able to earn a cord for recognition at
graduation.
However
Completing the yearly community service after
your freshman year, WILL be documented on
your transcripts.

What qualifies for community

service?
Community Service Hours are hours volunteered at any non-

profit organization. See list attached of examples.

This service is not part of a class where you are earning

credits for the hours as part of your class grade and may not
be as part of an extracurricular activity such as football
practice, play practice, etc.
Students may count Service Learning hours. Service

Learning hours may be earned if the activity is related to a

class taught on campus and is an extension of a class
project whose aim is to benefit the community.
