Objective : To examine the structure of root, stem and leaf of a young dicotyledonous plant
Apparatus: light microscope
Materials: prepared slides of cross-section of the root, stem and leaf of a young dicotyledonous plant
Technique: observe and draw labelled diagrams to show the cross-section of the root, stem and leaf of a
young dicotyledonous plant
Procedure:
1.
The slides of the of cross-section of the root, stem and leaf of a young dicotyledonous plant was
examined under low power and then high power magnification.
2.
The plant tissues such as cortex, pith, vascular tissues, endodermis and pericycle were identified.
3.
Labelled diagrams to show the cross-section of the root, stem and leaf of a young dicotyledonous
plant was drawn.
