Baseline
Haresh J.Planning Manager
I am facing a problem in P6, i am making a recovery program, when making a recovery
program, i have set my updated program as a Baseline.
P6 is showing different dates , when i am inserting my baseline program dates. How to show
in P6 correct dates, of an updated program , if it is set as a baseline.

Well Harish firstly you need to assign a baseline project or user baseline and in the default view you need to select
the option of project or user baseline, once you have assigned the baseline, as project baseline then all dates with
BL will be reflected , however if you assign as primary baseline then you need to select BL1 dats, note that start
and finish dates of the baseline will be updated one only those which are not completed and in progress rest it will
be the internal early start. hence for activities which have completed and started it is advisable that you show both
BL start and finish and BL actual start and finish to be able show the correct dates, I hope this is helpful

If you mean that the baseline bars are not showing dates that you know are correct then it is a P6 software glitch...
It is anoying, but here is the fix.
Before you set the schedule as a baseline, open and run a global change to make the planned dates equal the
start/finish dates. Create a Global Change with the following parameters:
Then:

Planned Start = Start

Planned Finish = Finish
Run the global change, ignoring the error (generated because a milestone will have either a planned start or
planned finish, but not both.) Once complete. make the schedule a baseline, and you will find it shows the correct
dates on the baseline bar for that schedule.

Hi Haresh,
You have to go to your baseline and change your planned dates. make sure your planned dates are as per your
baseline dates.
doing that you will see correct baseline dates after assigning your BL schedule.
usually thia kind of missmatchs comes when u have an actual
