by saying, This is a safe place to rest

Players do not have to tell the truth about their

card or any promise they make.
When a Trade is accepted, both Players slide their Unrevealed cards to each other. Players may not look at
their new Unrevealed card during Trading. Players may
not undo a Trade once made. A Player may not Trade
again with the same Player in that round of Trading,
but can Trade the new Unrevealed card with others
To end Trading a Player says
Done and gives the Orcish
Tusks Up gesture (see image). Dark Party players may
create an alternate, fantasy
gesture. This lets Players know
you are no longer Trading.

Trade Tracker to the Traded position. If other Players will

not make a Trade, keep the Trade Tracker on Must Trade.

REVEAL AND RESOLVE CARD

Starting left of the Dealer, each Player reads aloud their

Revealed Card and Resolves any special instructions. This
is another excellent opportunity to role play your unfolding adventure. Each Player Resolves their Revealed card
until all Revealed Cards are Resolved. The Revealed Card
always affects the Player who Revealed it, unless special
instructions permit otherwise.
Keep the following rules in mind when resolving Revealed
cards;

Weapon and Armor cards are placed Survival Prestigue

in the Active Hand left of the Player Card and in the order they were
Resolved. Players may only have a

limited number of Weapon and Ar- Card

that Player must Discard previous

WINNING OR LOSINGSCORING

The Revealing Player and all other Players may use one
of their Active cards to assist or hinder the Player who
is Resolving their Revealed card. Players can only use
one Active card per Revealed card.
Once all Revealed cards are Resolved and added to the
Active Hand, it is too late to affect the cards as a Revealed card.
Cards that do not have Survival or Prestige values are

After all Resolved cards are placed in

the Active Hand, each Player takes turns checking their
Survival, then Level Drain status and finally their Prestige
to see if there is a death or winner.
Starting to the left of the Dealer, the first Player adds
and subtracts the red Survival points of all their Active
Cards from their Player Cards Survival. If a Players Survival is ever zero (0) or lower, that Player has died. The

TRADE TRACKER

Players who hoard treasure and hog glory are eventually

pressured by their envious band to share the wealth. After each round of Trading, Players track this pressure using the Trade Tracker. The Trade Tracker starts with the
word Traded oriented to the table center. If a Player
DOES NOT make a Trade during a round of Trading, that
Player rotates the Trade Tracker to the next level. There
are three Trade Tracker levels;

Discarded once Resolved. They are never placed in

the Active Hand.
If a Revealed cards special instruction cannot be completed, ignore that instruction. If it can be completed,
it must be completed. Aspecial instruction with the key
word may can be Resolved if the Player chooses to do
so. May cards are typically used to interfer with future
cards or player actions.
If another Player takes a Players Revealed card, the
Player does not get a replacement Revealed card.

game ends and NO ONE wins. As A Band of Orcs, you

must work together to keep the tribe alive.
The first Player then checks the status of any Level Drain
card they have. A Player with a Dead status dies before
checking their Prestige score. The game ends and the
Lich King wins (the Players lose).
Finally the first Player sums the blue Prestige points of all
their Active cards. If this sum is equal to or greater than
their Player Cards blue Prestige Goal, they win.

TRADED- The starting position. The Player made a Trade

during the last round. After ANY Trade (desired or not),
return the Tracker to this position.

Revealed cards are added to the Active cards after ALL

Players have Resolved their Revealed cards.

For ease Players can track Survival and Prestige scores on

paper or using 20 sided dice.

DID NOT TRADE - the Player did not make a Trade last
round. If the Player does not make a Trade this round
the Player will be at Must Trade next round. If a Trade is
made, return the Trade Tracker to the Traded position.

All Revealed cards with a Survival and Prestige value must

be moved on the table below the Player Card to become
an Active Card. Active Cards (sometimes called Active Hand
cards) are the events, traps, locations, monsters and items
the Player has endured during their adventure. Active cards
are displayed with the most recent card on top. Location
cards are placed in the same pile, but oriented sideways so
others can see their current and past Locations.

Once all Player Tusks Up, or

there are no other Players to
trade with, Trading ends.
Players now update their Trade Tracker before Revealing
their card.

MUST TRADE- The Player did not make a Trade the last
two rounds and is now a target! The Player must accept
the first Trade offered. Once a Trade is made, return the

ACTIVE CARD

If the first Player was not killed and did not win, the next
Player checks their scores. This continues until all Players
have checked their scores. Scores are always checked in
Player order starting left of the Dealer. A winner, or death
is always decided by this clockwise scoring order.
Envious Players may race to die and prevent a winner!
This explains many fallen Orcs, but prevents the unique
one winner or everyone loses rule. Decide before each
game if this strategy will be permitted.
