Subjects social-economical background plays a vital role in subjects
exposure to English language. Subject lives in rural area and she comes from a poor family as her father is a peddler and her mother is a housewife. Therefore, we assume that her parents might have not been able to buy her books or send her to the tuition centre to enhance her language proficiency in English language. Nowadays, the price of the book is getting higher and this may cause the family unaffordable to buy additional books for her to do some readings and the tuition fee is quite expensive too. This might have been different for those students who live in urban area and come from a loaded family, they sure can buy extra books as it is affordable and enter tuition classes to enhance their English proficiency. So, for sure, if she lives in urban area and has a good living environment, sure she can improve her pronunciation because she is willing to learn. Other than that, the subjects educational background can affect her pronunciation too. Through the conversation with her, we know that she always being laughed by her friends when she mispronounced. She feels stress as she knows that her pronunciation is not so good if compared with others. She also told us that she really wanted to work hard to improve her pronunciation too. So, from this point, she is a person who is willing to learn from her mistakes to improve herself. As we mentioned earlier, subject comes from rural and from her words, we can know that her school does not have enough facilities to cater to students needs. Besides that, in rural area, the students have less academics pressure if compared with urban students. So, definitely urban area students can easily get access to the teaching forces.
