NEWTONS FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD LAWS

You are to choose one of the options for Objective 1 and one option from Objective 2 to meet the learning objectives
listed below:
Objective #1: To complete a demonstration to show an understanding of Newtons First Law, Newtons Second
Law and Newtons Third Law.
Objective #2: Complete a written portion to show your understanding of Newtons First Law, Newtons Second
Law and Newtons Third Law.
Choices for OBJECTIVE 1
Option Research and perform activities/demonstrations for the class that demonstrates each of Newtons three
1
Laws. The teacher determines the date you demonstrate this. You are to supply/create your own materials.
Option Research and perform (during homeroom or after school) activities for the teacher that demonstrates each
2
of Newtons three Laws. You are to supply/create your own materials.
Option Research and create computer simulations that demonstrate each of Newtons three Laws. You are NOT
3
asked to find a simulation that already exist and pass it off as your own, but rather, create an original
simulation. (i.e. stick figure animation or something equivalent)
Option Research activities that demonstrate each of Newtons three Laws and create your own original video
4
segment as an instructional tool. (i.e. A Bill Nye kind of thing, a news broadcast, etc.)
Option Research and compile a selection of 5 scenes (from TV, video, etc.) that shows each of Newtons three
5
Laws in action. You should be able to show your selections and explain how each demonstrates Newtons
Laws.
Choices for OBJECTIVE 2
Option Write a 15-question quiz that tests a students understanding of the Laws you demonstrated. In addition,
A
make a second copy of the quiz with answers.
Option Create a set of notes using PowerPoint that you could use as a teaching tool for Newtons Laws. Showing
B
the PowerPoint to the class can occur with the demonstration or as its own presentation.
