From the Desk of Music Ministry,

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Were you inspired by a teacher? Most of you will probably
respond with a resounding, Yes! But, have you ever considered that teachers are inspired by their students? What
makes a teacher return to the classroom every day? The requisite answer is often that they are called to teach--to impart
their knowledge and expertise to their students. For many of
us in the teaching profession, we are also motivated by the
moments of inspiration that occur with the four walls of our
classrooms. We live to see the joy on a students face when
that A-ha moment occurs.
In our scripture readings, teaching is often mentioned sevMASS INTENTIONS

One of my favorite quotes regarding teaching comes from

RESPECT LIFE MONTH October is Respect Life
Month. The desire to belong to each other in love and to
assist each other in character growth is a noble motive for
marriage and highlights the personal side of marriage sadly
neglected in previous centuries. But it would be just as
much a mistake for a couple to withdraw into themselves
and completely reject the call to raise up new life.
MASS CHANGES OCT. 16TH & 17TH Due to Oktoberfest, 7:30 a.m. Friday Mass will be at St. Peter Church
and there will be no 4:00 p.m. Saturday Mass at St. Peter,
instead there will be a polka Mass at the Parish Center.

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church - Jesus enjoins his disciples to prefer him to everything and everyone,
and bids them renounce all that [they have] for his sake and
that of the Gospel. Shortly before his passion he gave them
the example of the poor widow of Jerusalem who, out of her
poverty, gave all that she had to live on. The precept of detachment from riches is obligatory for entrance into the Kingdom of heaven. (CCC, 2544)

LIGHTHOUSE CATHOLIC MEDIA Exciting new titles
have arrived and are ready to be selected from the kiosks at
the back of our churches. One of the new CDs is The Catholic Teaching on Marriage and Annulments by Bishop Joseph
Perry. Are annulments just a Catholic version of divorce?
Nothing could be further from the truth. The differences are
profound, and much of the confusion springs from a misunderstanding about marriage itself. Bishop Perry explains the
key principles of the Sacrament of Marriage and applies
them to divorce and annulments.
