Hydraulics are force that is applied at one point then is transmitted to another point using a fluid. Pneumatics are usually powered by compressed air or compressed inert gases. A pneumatic system controlled through manual or automatic solenoid valves is selected when it provides a lower cost, more flexible, or safer alternative to electric motors and actuators.

Hydraulics The
idea behind any hydraulic system is
force that is applied at one point then is transmitted to another point using a fluid. The fluid is almost always an oil. The force is almost always multiplied in the process.
Pneumatics
Pneumatic
systems that are used extensively in industry
are usually powered by compressed air or compressed inert gases. A centrally located and electrically powered compressor powers cylinders, air motors, and other pneumatic devices. A pneumatic system controlled through manual or automatic solenoid valves is selected when it provides a lower cost, more flexible, or safer alternative to electric motors and actuators.
Electromagnetic
Electric fields are created by differences in voltage.
The higher the voltage, the stronger the resultant field. Magnetic fields are created when electric current flows. the greater the current, the stronger the magnetic field. An electric field will exist even when there is no current flowing. When the current flowers the strength of the magnetic field will vary with power consumption but the electric field strength will be constant.
