Standard 3: Planning and Implementation

Physical education teacher candidates plan and implement
developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with local,
state and national standards to address the diverse needs of all
students.

As a future physical educator, we must be able to plain. This is essential for

educators and can make or break you as a teacher. When thinking of planning, I think
of lesson plans, which must include both short and long term plans. These are guides
for you as an educator to use for your day to day activities and must have clear concise
goals that are attainable, measurable, developmentally appropriate, and performance
based. When planning, you must be aware of the resources that you will have available
in your classroom, i.e. time, space, equipment, etc. Your lessons must be developed
and implemented appropriately along the lines of the objectives given to you by your
local, state, and national standards
As an educator, you must be able to adapt your plans to fit all students. With this
being said you must be aware of students with exceptionalities in your classroom.
They must engage all students in the activities that are presented to support a healthy
lifestyle. Your planning should be able to assist in motivating your students to want to
live a healthy lifestyle. A physical educator should be able to implement their plans in
the classroom and be able to include and motivate all students.
