State the purpose(s)/objective(s) of the visit.
Describe the place that you visited.
Explain the importance of the place in fulfilling the purpose(s)/objective(s) of your
visit.
Chronologically, provide all the activities that you performed at the place that you
visited.
Knowledge gained at the visit:
Highlight insight gained and the knowledge acquired during the visit.
List new information you are bringing back, such as: in-depth technical knowhow; new analytic approaches; tips to streamline your work; case studies of data
success to emulate; or promising new techniques and technologies.
Information that may benefit your course mates:
List information that you plan to share with your course mates who could not visit
the place you went to, or technical expertise that you gained that you can teach to
your course mates.
Mention places you were not able to visit but realized the importance of that area
should you have the chance/time to visit that specific area.
List any contacts made at the visit that you are able to pass along to your course
mates.
People, Product and Projects of Note:
List a few key contacts you made during the visit, such as staff, key personnel,
vendors, etc.

Include the contacts name, business, contact information and a brief description
of their value to your course mates.
List vendors and products that interest you or might affect your team; case
studies of special interest, or projects similar to what you are working on.

Action items:
List the top action items to implement, such as: ideas for new approaches to
problems; technologies to consider; training your course mates; case studies to
share; or setting follow-up meetings with vendors or new business contacts.
Summary Evaluation of the visit:
Identify specific benefits to your course mates from the visit
If you had a goal in mind when visiting the place, recap your goal and what you
did to achieve that goal.
Follow up on the specific information you hoped to find at the event in your visit,
as well as knowledge gained that you had not expected.
Conclusions/Recommendations

Provide your overall conclusions and recommendations to the place that you
have visited.

References

Include suitable references to substantiate the information you provide in your


report.
Attach the list of information such as handouts, leaflets, brochure, illustrations,
etc to this report.
