sounds of Ee. The First Years continued in their Jolly Phonics booklets while the
Second Years added labels and/or sentences to their super heroes.

sounds and the Mystery Name activity. We played with beginning sounds using the
poem Zinga, Zanga Zumpkin. Booklets of this poem were sent home in mailbags
today. We practiced rhyming and clapping syllables.
We did some Thanksgiving writing for our school mass.

Boo and Deborah shared her Ballerina Barbie. Thank you ladies!

around us.the wisdom of cycles and how seeds move and are protected, etc we
also celebrated our Thanksgiving Mass as a school community. Its NOT just with
teacher pride that we tell you how well behaved the children were! They were
awesome! Special mention to Domenic and Connor who took the higher road and
totally ignored a running monologue near them! Frs message of Dont be first,
be last was discussed again and again in our class this week. Being last is usually
the same as being kind being a bucket filler!
Science: The Beautiful Shelf is growing in leaps and bounds! We added leaves and
chestnuts and twigs and nuts and scarecrows as we discussed the significance to
the season. We also discussed dressing appropriately for the weather.

In Art: We had no formal art this week but met with our grade 4 Buddies instead.

requested this weekas youll see in the grooving video!
In Mathematics: We continued the 100 days of school.adding fish to our
fishbowl and straws to our collection. We counted by 1,2,5, and 10. We sorted using
sorting rules and decided what did NOT belong. It was OUTSTANDING to watch
the children use several of our strategies to count the egg cartons!
Individual Number Sense assessments will go home in mail bags today and Sorting
assessments will go home next week. On to PATTERNING next week!
