1.A man went to The Butcher to buy fresh meat.

He was happy to
know that the meat was so fresh, it's as if the man could still feel
its warmth,as he slides his hand inside the body's cut up genital.
This story begins with a simple and normal statement, "A man went to The Butcher to buy fresh
meat." In the cultural context it is normal to purchase meat such as beef and pork from the
butcher-shop. Thus, the expectation would be that the man is buying meat so he could cook and
eat it. Also, at this point the word fresh meat can be seen to mean meat that have just been
prepared and has not been refrigerated or modified (smoked,marinated,etc.). The normality
continues with, "The meat was so fresh",stressing the newness of the meat the man had
purchased. A person would naturally be glad to have fresh meat,as in today's cultural context
fresh meat taste better and viewed as healthier than non-fresh meat. Following that is the
sentence "it's as if the man could still feel its warmth," which is is an idiomatic expression to
describe the freshness. Freshness correlates with newness, as this also meant that the live animal
had been recently butchered. So, the man perceived that the meat is just like if it were alive.
The twist comes with the not so pleasant subordinate clause "as he slides his hand inside the
body's cut up genital." With the appearance of this twist, the meaning of the first sentence
changes completely. The capitalization of The "Butcher" in the first sentences may not have been
referring to a profession, but instead refer to a title or namesake that defines the actual work
(cutting up bodies). In addition, "fresh meat would have another meaning. Fresh meat has two
definitions. It describes the quality of meat being new, but at the same time portrays its slang
definition of an woman's genital that's untouched and not sexually experienced. Lastly, the act of
sliding his hands into a woman's genitals showed that the "warmth" that the man had felt is very
literal,as the inside of the human body would be still warm when it had recently died.
2. A man went to the ranch to buy a goat and for awhile watched it play with the

kids. The man had only wanted to take the adult animal and to get the offspring
next time, but he couldn't help but seize the boys as well before the farmer came
back.
The horror story begins with an innocent depiction of a goat that is playing with its offspring
when the man went to the ranch. The offspring are referred to as kids, which is a term that for a
young goat. This appears to be normal, as it is a normal site to see animals playing with their
younglings. Then, the line "The man had only wanted to take the adult animal and to get the
offspring next time." indicates the man only wanting to purchase the adolescent goat rather than
young goats. At this point it is still fairly normal and nothing is out of ordinary.
This all changes with the turnabout with the line but he couldn't help but seize the boys as well
before the farmer came back. The meaning of kids and offspring is clarified by boy, which
exclusively refers to a young human male. On the other hand, kids and offspring are words that
do not define a specific species, as kids can mean young goat or human, and offspring is a
general term that can encompass human beings although it is generally used to describe other

animals. So, a simple story about a man buying goats changes into property theft and kidnapping.
