Play
The Big Ideas of this unit is related to play and making arts in all forms, such as dancing,
singing, music, and art making more playful and exciting to kids. We as an teacher or educator
have to be more sensible and observing the children by there play no matter it is in an classroom
settings or at their home. In directly observing art teacher can discover a timeless path for
teaching art (Szekely 2011). It is the first step before we as an teacher interact kids with object
and forms, materials, and different surfaces. Kids making art in playful form and fallow their
instinct or emotional feelings and its room for individual self-expression.
In all our reading an studio work it was hard to choose what I like the best and what I
possible could integrate in an teacher strategy for art making. I liked all, but the best and
meaningful is the Multimodal Message. Because each kid can put into their meaning or what is
important to tell as an story. For instants, searching in magazine for the right image and quote
and glue it on paper or make it more visible with with painting it can send out a message what is
very important and sometimes kids don't have words for it. For me as an future Educator it is a
self-expression. In our modern days games are also an very important part in art it opens the right
brain and its a powerful learning tactic more effectual than in the class room seatings (Pink,
p193). For kids playing video games learning about memorizing facts and connecting and
manipulating them effectual (Pink, p 193).
