INDONESIAN STATE DEFENSE

Research Question
What kinds of state defense are used in Indonesia and how developed
are they compared to other countries?

Introduction to state defense


Definition: citizens defense of a country (Carafano)
Consists of: State Defense Forces/organized militia, education,
welfare, etc (PKn 3 For Junior High School Year IX)
It is important as it helps protect and defend a country from
threats
It is important to learn it so we know how we can help defend
our country (PKn 3 For Junior High School Year IX)
It is equally as important to be aware of the state defense in
other parts of the world, so we know where we are in the
world and how we can improve our state defense.

Forms of state defense + comparison


There are many different kinds: ranging from militia to public welfare to
education

Militia: Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, all of which are used in
Indonesia (Global Fire Power)

Our state defense compared to other countries is relatively well developed


on the militia part, ranking the #12th in the world. This is because of the
advancement of the militia and its technology, improving manpower,
land systems, air and naval power, and the ability to use resources
(Global Fire Power).

Indonesia still needs to improve on the education and welfare side as many
children are still not getting properly educated (The Economist) and the

How can we improve?


Indonesia is theoretically able to defend itself from threats, as it is one of the high-ranking armies in the
world.

Education and welfare wise, Indonesia is lacking in strength. Fortunately, it is possible to improve it by putting
in place programs that help the impoverished such as health care, community, and educational assistance
for those in need (Perdana).

Teachers should be chosen wisely to allow students to learn better (The Economist).

Conclusion
In conclusion, Indonesia uses several different kinds of forms of state defense mainly focusing on militia and
education and the countrys state defense, as a whole, requires improvement.
Compared to the rest of the world, Indonesias state defense is doing well on the militia side however struggling
with education and welfare.
To improve, there are several methods such as providing organized care systems and improving teaching methods
which would be beneficial to the country and its citizens, helping protect Indonesia and improve its state
defense.
