Sport Pedagogy Lesson Plan

Grade Level: 4th /5th grade

Lesson Focus: Students will learn how to dribble a


soccer ball using the proper technique

# Of students: 20 students

Equipment and Facilities: Poly Spots, soccer balls,


cones, on the grass area
20 Soccer balls, 30 cones, 20 jerseys, 5 poly spots

Safety Considerations: Students will be advised to


keep their heads up and be aware of their
surroundings when in limited space. Students will be
told not to play around with the equipment in an
inappropriate manner or shoot a ball when it is not
their turn. The teacher will make sure that there is
adequate personal space for each student during the
activities.

One of the basic skills to play soccer is
how to dribble the ball. Will
incorporate dribbling and turning the
ball.

home baseline. The ball will be at
the base of their feet. When I hold
up a green poly spot that means
go. Red poly spot means stop put
a hat on the ball If a student does
not stop on time by red, the
student will need to go back to the
starting line. This will practice the
students dribbling ability and to
keep their head up.

Lesson Core - Task 3: Line Dribbling


Task 1: Dribbling through cones taking
turns with a partner using the proper
cues not hitting over the cones.

You will be put into small groups. In


your group, you will practice your
dribbling skills the right foot, left foot,
inside and outside of the foot. It is
important the students are dribbling the
ball with CONTROL. And keeping their
eyes up. They will take turns once
going through the cones.
I will go around each group and give
personal feedback making sure
everyone is doing it correctly. After
dribbling through the cones, there will
be one cone out further to practice
dribbling out with speed. If time, relay
at the end!
