INTRODUCTION
Ss will re-cap the previous lesson and then
will be taught a new concept which is
learning about 5 minute intervals.
(5 min intervals)
Ss will then play a warm up game.
DEVELOPMENT
Ss will complete the clock activity
Where they will:
- Draw the times on their clock
sheet.
- Record the times on clock sheet.
Learn what is meant by:
- Quarter past
- Half past
- Quarter to
- Will be introduced to 5 min intervals

CLOSURE
Ss will re-cap on what they have learnt in
this lesson.

Teaching Strategies / Learning Experiences:

Write detailed steps showing what the teacher (T) will do and
what students (Ss) will do.

Resources and Organisation:

10 mins

T will re-cap previous lesson which was on quarter past, half


past and quarter to.
T will then introduce 5 min intervals to class.
Class will play a warm up game where one student at a time
will come up make a time on the clock and choose someone to
read the clock.

Learning Intentions
Clock to explain new concept.

20 mins

Ss could choose to either work in pairs or on own and will be


given clock cards with analog clocks already filled out and Ss
will write digital times to match the clocks. Ss will then
complete another set of cards with the digital times where they
will need to draw the times on the clock faces in 5 minute
interval times.
For the early finishers Ss will be given clocks to make up their
own times using 5 min intervals or can go on a website that is
on the Smart board and play time games.
T will provide 3 specific students an altered set of work
different from the class to cater to their learning needs and
abilities.

T will re-cap on what they learnt and will ask Ss questions to


clarify what students have learnt. T will collect cards and
assess them.
