I am writing to you in response to the ad on Craigslist regarding the position needed for the
South By Southwest showcase being held here in Austin during the week of March 15-20 th.
Having moved to Austin for its well-earned reputation of being the “live music capital of the
world,” I knew that there would be amazing opportunities such as the one you are offering to
expand my experience in dealing with bands, promotion, live shows, networking, tech support,
sales, etc.

I am currently studying Commercial Music Management at Austin Community College and have
been an active musician for over six years. I plan on participating in every aspect of this field as
much as possible and therefore I see the position you are offering as ideal. I meet all the
requirements posted on your ad of having transportation, video camera, and willingness to
welcome audiences and hand out promotional material.

I am attaching my resume and would welcome any additional information regarding the event
such as the bands playing, venue, time, date, along with any other details that might help me
familiarize myself with the showcase so I may be prepared. I look forward to hearing from you
and hope all involved have a great and successful SXSW.
