segregation to protect black people and their __________ This is interesting (or puzzling) because: the
difference of thinking between those of the societies in the 50s and 60s and those of todays societies are
totally opposite. While in those years people though segregation was the key to live a peaceful life; today
the tendency is towards inclusion and tolerance. Mainly because it has been proven that segregation lead to
hate, envy and anger while inclusion encourages diversity.
An interpretation that can be made from ANOTHER
Paragraph __3_____ is that segregation resulted beneficial for black people economically speaking.
because the black people realized that they could take advantage of the segregation because white people
was out of the competition in the markets where the audience was black people. This way many people got
a better lifestyle.
In today's reading, a CONNECTION to my personal experience and/or my knowledge appears on Page
____149_____, Paragraph ___3___ and is that no one has any excuse to not achieve their goals. Even if the
circumstances are all against, everybody should find a way to overcome difficulties and avoid mediocrity
and laziness. Martin Luther King said so in the quote: We must not let the fact that we are victims of
injustice lull us into abrogating responsibility for our lives. We must not use our oppression as an excuse
for mediocrity and laziness
