5.
Comparing Journal article 1, Considering the New implications of New
and Emerging Technologies in the Area of Human Security, with
Database article 1, 12 Emerging Educational uses of Technology That
are Most Excitable Right Now.

a.) Ease of access:

After searching for an article using the online library database, I
next used the Internet to complete the same search. After using the
2 different search engines, I then realized how much more beneficial
the library database was for this type advanced and comprehensive
research. When I began my first database article search, I came to
discover that the same page the database search-bar option was on
also included two easy accessible and noticeable drop-down menu
options. This allowed me to filter my choice of database by subject; in
which I was able to easily select the science/technology database from
the list. This made the article search much more easily-accessible as
in comparison to the search results provided by the Internet.

b.) Timeliness:

Assignment 1
Information Literacy
Abigale LeCompte
After comparing the use of a database to the Internet when
searching for relevant articles of these topics, I found that using a
database to perform this article search had seemed to be the better
option in means of time. When searching with keywords: emerging,
technology, and ethics, the Internet provides you with over 1,000,000
search results to chose from. On the other hand, the CCBC Library
database will only provide you with about 260,000 search results, and
nearly about 156,000 when filtered with the Scholarly (Peer Reviewed)
Journals filter option. With the use of these filter options and database
selection (as mentioned above) that the database offers, I found that it
made my overall article search more time-efficient when searching for
the assigned article topics given to chose from.

c.) Authority:
In means of authority, using the CCBC library database to
perform this article search seemed to be the better option when
compared to using the Internet. The Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals
filter option, as well as the database search-bar option, allow you to
choose from a more so credible and trustworthy selection of articles. In
a scenario of dealing with research on a larger scale, I found that the
Internet would seem to be the better search option, due to the amount

of coding that exists amongst Internet results compared to database
results.
