Physical education teacher candidates demonstrate dispositions

essential to becoming effective professionals.

As a physical educator, one must look at teaching not only as a job, but as a
profession. Physical educators must go into this profession with the upmost
professional manner, in the classroom as well as outside. In our physical education
classroom, we must go into each class believing that all students can become physically
educated individuals. We must communicate this to our students in ways that convey
respect and sensitivity.
As physical educators, we must participate in professional development activities
that enhance collaboration and lead to our own professional growth and development.
This allows us to extend our knowledge base with our peers and gives us a higher level
of understanding of our profession. In doing all of this, we must be able to demonstrate
these behaviors and more that are consistent with the professional ethics of highly
qualified educators.
