Article 1
What is it?:
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed
with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of
brotherhood.
In my words:
It means that we are all born free so we shouldnt be slaves at all we should be
treated like everyone else.
This is important because:
If we are not born free it is not fair at all because lots of people die when there
working because they dont get enough food or water.

Article 2
What is it?
All people should be equal no matter what color their skin is, where they are from, what
religion they believe in and many more.

In my words? I think that this is a great rule so that everyone is treated in the
same way and no more slavery.

It is important because? No one is aloud to steal things that are yours and
you cant treat someone unfairly. It is good to follow this.

Article 3
What is it?:
Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of
person.
In my word:
In my word is everyone has the right to their life,
freedom and protect of a person.
Why it is important?:
Its important because if they had the right to their life, freedom and their

What is it?
No one is aloud to be a slave of anyone.You cannot trade a person for another
person.You cant tell someone to serve you.

In My Words?
We shall not be slaves and cant be traded with someone else. It is not right if you do.

It is important because?
You will be separated and be working for someone who payed a man for you so that you
cant see your family again.

Article 5.
What is this?
No-one have the right to torture or be cruel to other or other
wise you will have a punishment.

In my word:
No-one should be tortured or be cruel to another person if they do it they will pay
for what they done or be punished.

Its important because:

We need to treat everyone fairly and the is punishment for people who dont follow.

Article 6
What is it?:
Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person
before the law.
In my words:
It means that if you are a human you get a passport before
the law
This is important because:
If you want to go to a hotel or a different country you need a
passport.

What is it?

Article 7

Everyone is equal before the law and are entitled without discrimination to make the
protection of the law same. Everyone are entitled to equal protection against
discrimination in violation of the declaration and against incitement to such
discrimination.

Why is it important?
If everyone is not the same, then there will not be a boy or girl, a man or woman
and brother or sister. So everyone is the same if not, they will call themselves
another species than humans.

What is it?: Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent
national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the
constitution or by law.
In my words:Everyone has the right to go to court and say these is not part of my
human rights.

Article 9
What is it?: No-one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.
In My Words: No-one Should be arrested or hurt without going to a fair
court.

Why Is This Important?: Because without this the

government could just put you in jail without any reason.

Article 10
What is it?: Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an
independent tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any
criminal charge.
In my Words: It means that everyone has the same fair rights, so you have fair rights if
you have to go to court, they cant just get, you also have to be in a public hearing, they
cant just do it in private.
It is Important Because: If nothing is fair, some people can just go to court and get killed
if it is not fair, people are still killed though.

Article 11
What Is It?: Everyone charged with a penal offence has
the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty
according to law a public trial at which he has had all the
guarantees necessary for his defence. No-one shall be
held guilty of any penal offence on account of any act or
omission which did not constitute a penal offence, under
national or international law, at the time when it was
committed. Nor shall a heavier penalty be imposed the
one that was applicable at the time the penal offence

In My Words: People are not allowed to be charged for
no reason, instead they should be allowed to get a
lawyer and speak for there rights.
why is it important?:
If people just get arrested for nothing the you would
likely to get half of the population if there were a lawyer
then it would be good then having chaos.

Article 12
What is it?
Everybody is allowed to protect themselves from government
and president if you did nothing bad, but some countries dont
agree with it.

Why is it important?
If this law wasnt important nearly every country will kill
parents,child and other family members and the country wont
be existed.

Article 13
What Is It?
Everyone is allowed to move around their countries and leave their countries,also
returning back to their countries.

In My Word
Everyone is allowed to move around their countries without anyone stopping them,
also they can go to a different countries and return back to their countries.

Why Is It Important
It is important because what if there is a war and people have to leave their
countries and when the war are over they want to return back to their countries.

Article 14
(1) Everyone has the right to seek and enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.
(2) This right may not be invoked in case of prosecutions genuinely arising from non-political crimes or from acts
contrary to the purposes and principles of the united nation.

In my words: everyone is allowed to ask a different country for help

or if they can stay in that country only if they are treated unfairly in
their own country. You can not ask for help from another country
because other people are tracking you down in your own country
because you have committed a non-political crime like burglary,
murdered someone...
Why is it important? because if a person is in danger in their
own country then they should get help from other country so
they dont die and it will help lots of people including young
kids. It is also important that you only ask for help from
another country if you are treated unfairly and not because
you are getting chased by other people in your country
because you have done something wrong and wanting to
escape because of that reason.

What Is It?

1. Everyone has the right to a nationality.

2. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality
nor denied the right to change his nationality.
In My Words?
Everyone has the right be cared for from a country and to
come from a country.
Why Is It Important?
Because if not then you cant get a visa or a passport and noone will know who you are.

Article 16
(1) Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a
family.they are entitled to equal rights as to the marriage, during marriage and its dissolution.
(2) Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses
(3) the family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to the protection by society and the state.
In my words: Men and women must be allowed to marry who they like when they have passed a certain age that they are allowed to
get married in their country. They have the same importance when they get married and during their lifetime.
Why is it important? because it is important that people are allowed to marry someone when they have passed 18 years old or 20
years old depending their countrys rule.Some people get married at an early age and they are not responsibled enough. It is very
important that when a couple get married they must have the equal importance because if the men is more important then he gets to
decide everything and the women dont get to decide as much.

his property.
In my words:No one can just come in your house
and say this is my house know so go away.
Why this is important?:This is important because
then every body will go to different houses and take
them over and soon no one will have a house.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?:
It means that everyone has the right to choose their own religion and
culture and change it when ever and where ever they want

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT
It is important to be able to choose your religion
because it makes happy and if youre happy it
means youll do happy things, the right things

Article 18 Part 1
What is it?:
You have the right to change your religion or go
to another country and get a new passport.
In My Words:
You are allowed to choose a job such as a
teacher, manager, electrician a soldier or to be a
what they want to be in the future and to live a
good life.

Article 18 Part 2
It is Important Because
because or people are not allowed to travel because
the passport is to show idenity if you dont then you
would not be able to travel or maybe throwned in jail.

Article 19
What is it: Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right
includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart
information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.
In my Words: This means that everyone has the right to share their opinion about what
they think is happening
This is Important because: Some people will not like what is happening and will want to
share what they think about some things, some people are killed trying to share
opinions.

what is it?
People are allowed to speak up for themselves about what they think.

In My Words:
Everyone is allowed to speak to other people if they want to tell them what they
think.
It Is Important because..
because if you dont speak up for yourself people wont know what you think.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN
It means that everyone should have the right to freedom of a peaceful assembly
and association.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT
it is important that everyone has the right to freedom otherwise all the poor would
be owned by the rich and human rights would not been born.

In my words?: Everyone is allowed to stand up for his
country or family. Everyone is allowed to try to be a

Everybody can have there own opinion what they want to do and
any leader or some kind of boss cant tell you what to do for
example if you want a pet nowon cant tell you that you cant have

Why is it important?
If you dont have this law you cant do what you want and youd
be slaves.

What is it?

1) Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and
favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.
2) Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal
work.
3) Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration
ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and
supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection
4) Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his
interests

In my word:
5) Its mean that everyone has the right to work, their choice of employment, to
just and expressing approval conditions of work and to protection fight back
the unemployment. No one can say what job you have to do

Why its important

Its important to community, because if they work and no money so they wont have
food. Also, if they work at the same time they need to have the same pay. And they can
have free choice of trade unions.

Article 24
What is it? :everyone has the right to rest and leisure,including reasonable
limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.

In my words: it means that you should be able to work and have

holidays for a fair amount of time.

It is important because:we need to spend time

holidays with family.

Article 25
What Is It?: Everyone has the right to standard living adequate for the
health and well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing, housing
and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the
event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of
livelihood in circumstances beyond his control. Motherhood and childhood are
entitled to a special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of
wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.

In My Words: Everyone should be able to be healthy and safe. This

does not happen in places with war like syria and in north korea but this usually
happens in safer places like England and America

Why Is This Important?: Because if not then many people

would be sick and not able to have a chance to get healthy while some others who
are rich get to live in big houses and always be healthy.

What is it?
Everyone has the right to learn and have education with
others.
In my words?
everyone has their own way to learn but everyone has
to go to school or they will not be smart.

People need to be educated or at least be able to read
or they won't really understand much that others say.

What is it ?
(1) Everyone has the right freely to participate in cultural life of the community, to
enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits.

What does it mean in your words?

Everyone has the right to participate in any cultural or religious
activities of their community if they want to.

It is important because?
It is important because if you arent aloud to do join in a cultural or religious
activities you wont feel like you are a part of that community
anymore.

(2) Everyone has the right to protection of the moral and material interests
resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of
which he is the author.

What it means in your own words?

Everyone has the right to have a house or shelter and everyone must get
to keep whatever they make from a book or invention.

It is important because?
It is important because if it isnt we arent remembered for something
that made them take money away so they must get that money back

WHAT DOES IT MEAN
It means that everyone is entitled to a certain countrys order in which his or her
rights can be fully realized by the declaration

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT
It is important because the declaration needs to know their rights otherwise they
have no rights .

What does it mean?

Everyone has duties to the community or have
something to do thats useful to others.

In my words?
Well it is when everyone has the right to freedom
and whatever they want to do.
We must look after others rights too.

It is important because people need freedom to be
able to do things by themselves or with others like
play, eat, read or learn.

What is it?
Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State,
group pr person any right to engage in any or to perform any act aimed at
the destruction of any of the right and freedoms set forth herein.

What it means in your own words?

Everyone has the right to get engage in any activity or to perform any act
aimed at them and to have the right to freedoms set forth to them.

Why is it important?
It is important because nobody can take these rights away, even
governments.
