Amlslamic sees 30%
growth in assets, profit

KUALA LUMPUR: Amislamic Bank Bhd is confident of achieving
double-digit growth in its Islamic banking business for the
financial year ending March 31.
Managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Mahdi
Murad said the bank expected to see 30% growth in assets and
profitability.
“For the past five years, we have recorded double-digit growth,
so we are confident of achieving it again,” he said.
Amlslamic Bank was also targeting a 30% market share with its.
total Islamic banking profit this year, he told reporters after the
presentation of its business zakat.
The bank expected its new branch at Universiti Islam
Antarabangsa Malaysia to begin operation in March or April,
Mahdi said.
“We also plan to issue six more new products, including wealth
management and structured products, this year,” he said.
On non-performing loans (NPLs), Mahdi said Amislamic Bank
expected the figure to be less than 1%. — Bernama
