1C The OT Father Definition

Last updated 10/28/15 this study is 33 pages long

Introduction
Is God, the father (regarding genealogy) and creator of each and every human being?
Or is the term Father when applied to God a figurative name?
Did God only create Adam and Eve, and the rest of the population expansion is down to the system that is in place
through human pro-creation?
When we call God, Father, what exactly do we mean?
When we call a male human being "father," what exactly do we mean?
When did God first become the Father?
In our current English vocabulary, we tend to understand the term father to usually refer to our closest male parent
this however only partially defines the meaning of the word father in the bible. The term father has several
definitions in the OT, and most of the definitions listed from Strongs concordance have an explanation and analysis in
a part of this section (shown in parenthesis).
This OT study will set the foundation regarding the core definition of the word "father" for both men and God.
Father:

He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

The NT study corresponds, supports, and is in agreement with the OT definition. It then examines how the word
"Father" relates to the Son Jesus. Because of the definitions of the words "Father" and "Son" the bible defines that God
the Father was in existence and then caused the Son Jesus to exist. Because of this basic theme that runs the length of
the bible this is one of the most certain way to determine that Jesus is not, and cannot be, God.

Overall Bible Definition:
Using the scriptures as our base, the basic core definition of father will be shown to be as follows:
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator
Masculine: of a gender that refers chiefly (but not exclusively) to males or to objects classified as male
Parent: a mother or father, a progenitor or ancestor, anything from which other things are derived, source, origin
Ancestor:
A parent or the parent of an ancestor. Somebody from whom a person is descended.
Giver of life: A human father is a giver of life when he gives his sperm to be fertilized with the female egg?
The process would not work without the fathers sperm unless God created another process
Originator: Someone who creates new things, causes a specified beginning, create or initiate, instigator. The one
from which something comes.
Creator:
Cause to exist, bring into being, to result in something, to make something happen. To produce or
bring about by a course of action or behavior
There are exceptions to this definition, and examples will be given, however this study is to identify who a human
father is and who God is as a Father in relationship to people and in that case this definition will be shown to be
accurate. The father also has a role which includes authority, teaching, training, helping, providing for, caring for and
loving their children. This is assessed in Part 5C.
Summary:
The basic biblical definition provided of the word "father" will be shown to be biblically accurate based on the OT and
the NT.
Father: He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

Part 0B Other Definitions

The following Hebrew words will be used in this study to show God as a Father in relation to people.

Part 1A Human father of an individual:

Parts 1A-D are in place to show the basic meaning of the word father, Hebrew Ab. Our closest immediate masculine
parent is our father, we might refer to them as our biological father. Here are some examples and the Hebrew words
that are used to describe fathering a child.
Genesis 5:32 After Noah was 500 years old, Noah fathered (H3205 Yalad) Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
H3205 Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget.
Noah fathered (H3205 Yalad) Shem, Ham and Japeth. He brought forth a child, to bear, he bore a child.
It might seem that this definition would only apply to a woman, however the bible has it applying to men.
Noah became the individual, immediate, biological father of each of his sons.
Genesis 11:27-28 Now these are the generations of Terah. Terah fathered (H3205 Yalad) Abram, Nahor,
and Haran; and Haran fathered Lot.
28 Haran died in the presence of his father (H1 Ab) Terah in the land of his kindred, in Ur of the Chaldeans.
Terah fathered (H3205/Yalad) Abram, Nahor and Haran.
Harans father (H1/Ab) was Terah
Genesis 44:27 "Your servant my father (H1 Ab) said to us, 'You know that my wife bore (H3205 Yalad) me
two sons.
Judah talking to Joseph who was second in command to Pharoah referring to Jacob.
Judah's immediate father (H1 Ab) is Jacob (or Israel). Joseph and Benjamin were born (H3205 Yalad), or fathered by
Jacob
The wife yalad the two sons for Jacob.
Later in Genesis 16:1 we see that women yalad the sons for God
KJV Judges 11:1-2 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot:
and Gilead begat (H3205 Yalad) Jephthah.

And Gilead's wife bare (H3205 Yalad) him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and
said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's (H1 Ab) house; for thou art the son of a strange woman.
Gilead with a harlot begat (H3205 yalad) Jephthah. Jephthahs father (H1 Ab) is Gilead
Gileads wife begat (H3205 yalad) more sons for Gilead
See also Genesis 5:1-32 Twenty four times a man yalad his son
See also Genesis 11:11-26 Twenty seven times a man yalad his son
Summary:
Gen 5:32
Gen 11:27-28
Gen 44:27
Jud 11:1-2

Noah fathered (H3205 Yalad) Shem, Ham and Japeth. He brought forth, or bore, a child.
Terah fathered (H3205 Yalad) Abram, Nahor and Haran. Harans father (H1/Ab) was Terah
The wife yalad the two sons for Jacob. Jacob was their father (H1/Ab)
Gilead with a harlot begat (H3205 yalad) Jephthah. Jephthahs father (H1 Ab) is Gilead

A father (H1/Ab) is the closest male parent.

The father H3205/yalad, to bear, bring forth, beget, his son.
Several of the words for the definition stated at the beginning are found here. A father is always a he, him and
masculine this will be the case in all parts of this study and always the case each time the term "father" is used. Here we
specifically identify the word "parent" which we understand to be the closest biological parent. Also the father is
identified as "a giver of life." Both the definitions of "parent" and "giver of life" will continue throughout this study.
The Hebrew words H1/Ab and H3205/Yalad are used on numerous occasions throughout.
Father:

He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

Part 1B Human Father as an Ancestor, Grandfather, Forefathers of a Person

A persons grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and so on are all a father to the person.
The same word (H1 Ab) is applied when defining a father or a grand father or a great grand father etc
Again all of the definition regarding genealogy of a father is fulfilled in here.
Genesis 10:21-31 Unto Shem also, the father (H1 Ab: father) of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth
the elder, even to him were children born (H3205/Yalad).
22
The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
24
And Arphaxad begat (H3205/Yalad) Salah; and Salah begat (H3205/Yalad) Eber.
25
And unto Eber were born (H3205/Yalad) two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth
divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
26
And Joktan begat (H3205/Yalad) Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
31
These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
H3205 Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
Vs22 Shem is the immediate father to Arphaxad
Vs24 Arphaxad is the immediate father to Salah
Vs24 Salah is the immediate father to Eber
Vs25 Eber is the immediate father to Peleg
Vs31 The son of Shem is Peleg
Vs21 Shem was the father (Ab) to the sons of Eber, Peleg and Joktan, who were his great great grandsons.
Genesis 15:15 You, however, will go to your fathers (H1 Ab) in peace and be buried at a good old age.
Abraham was told by God that when he died he would go to his fathers, his male ancestors. The same word
father is used instead of forefather.

Genesis 28:13 There above it stood the LORD, and he said: "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham
and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.
God tells Jacob that his grand father Abraham is his father
KJV Genesis 46:15 These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padanaram, with his daughter
Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
People born into existence are Hebrew "nehfesh" or souls
Jacob and Leah had six immediate sons and one daughter, so why are thirty three listed here? The grandchildren are
also considered Jacobs sons and daughters
Genesis 48:5 And now your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt,
are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh shall be mine, as Reuben and Simeon are.
Jacob says, the two sons born to Joseph are also Jacobs sons, therefore the grandfather is also the father.
1 Kings 2:10 Then David rested with his fathers (H1 Ab) and was buried in the City of David.
David died and was buried with his male ancestors or fathers regarding genealogy
Isaiah 38:5 Go and tell Hezekiah, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father (H1 Ab) David, says: I have
heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.
Hezekiah lived three hundred years and thirteen generations after David but God said David was his father.
Also 2 Kings 18:1-3 Hezekiah son of Ahaz and then son of David,
2 Kings 20:5
David is Hezekiahs father,
2 Chronicles 34:2
David father of Josiah 16 generations different
Comparisons: If we compare the ancestry of 1 Chronicles with that of Luke or Mathew we see that generations were
missed out in these following four examples.
1 Chronicles 1:1 Shem the father of Arphaxad the father of Shelah the father of Eber
Luke 3:23-28 Shem the father of Arphaxad the father of Cainan the father of Shelah then Eber
Arphaxad the father of Shelah (No Cainan) in 1 Chronicles 1 when in fact he is the grandfather.
1 Chronicles 1:3 Jehoshaphat father of Jehoram, father of Ahaziah, father of Joash, father of Amaziah,
of Araziah, father of Jotham
Mathew 1:1 Johoshaphat father of Jehoram, father of Uzziah (Ahaziah?) father of Jotham
In Mathew there is one generation between Jehoram and Jotham when in 1 Chronicles there are four generations
between them.
1 Chronicles 1:3 Josiah, Joiakim, Joiachin, Shealtiel
Mathew 1:1 Josiah, Jeconiah, Shealtiel
In Mathew there is one generation between Josiah and Shealtiel, in 1 Chronicles there is two
1 Chronicles 1:3 Shealtiel father of Pedaiah father of Zerubbabel
Mathew 1:1 Shealtiel father of Zerubbabel
Luke 3:23-28 Shealtiel father of Zerubbabel

father

Shealtiel is considered the father of Zerubbabel in both Mathew and Luke, yet he is the grandfather in 1 Chron.
Additionally In Luke 3 there are twenty generations shown between Zerubbabel and Jesus.
In Matthew 1 there are eleven generations between Zerubbabel and Jesus, and each from Zerubbabel fathered the next
despite generations not being recorded.
Summary:
Gen 10:21 Shem was the father (Ab) to the sons of Eber, Peleg and Joktan, who were his great great grandsons.
Gen 15:15
You, however, will go to your fathers (H1/Ab) in peace
Gen 28:13
God tells Jacob that his grand father Abraham is his father
Gen 46:15
Jacob and Leah's grandchildren are their children
Gen 48:5 Jacob says, the two sons born to Joseph are also Jacobs sons, therefore the grandfather is also the father.
1 Kings 2:10 David died and was buried with his male ancestors or fathers regarding genealogy
Is 38:5 Hezekiah lived three hundred years and thirteen generations after David but God said David was his father
Therefore our grandfather, great grandfather and any direct male ancestor are biblically all our fathers, H1/Ab.
Here we have added the word "ancestor" to the core definition of the word "father."
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

Part 1C Human Father as a Head or Founder of a Household, Group, Family, or Clan

Genesis 10:1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them
(H3205/Yalad) after the flood.
6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.
13 Egypt fathered (H3205/Yalad) Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
14 Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom the Philistines came), and Caphtorim.
H3205 Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
Each of the tribes in vs13-14 were fathered by (H3205/Yalad), or had a male ancestor called, Egypt (sometimes
Mizraim) who was the tribes originator.
Genesis 10:15 Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn and Heth,
16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,
17 the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,
18 the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites
Canaan fathered (H3205/Yalad) Sidon his firstborn, and of Heth (the Hittites) and all the listed tribes.
Canaan is the originator these tribes. Canaan fathered the tribes in their earliest days.
Genesis 17:4 As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father (H1/Ab) of many nations.
God tells Abraham, at 90 years old and before he had Isaac, that he will be the father of many nations. He and Sarah
would have a child whose line would result in nations, Abraham is the originator or father!
Genesis 19:37-38 The older daughter had (H3205/Yalad) a son, and she named him Moab; he is the father (H1
Ab) of the Moabites of today.
38
The younger daughter also had (H3205/Yalad) a son, and she named him Ben-Ammi; he is the father (H1 Ab)
of the Ammonites of today.
Moab was born and went onto be the father (H1/Ab) of the Moabites, their originator and creator
Summary:

Gen 10:1-14 Egypt fathered (H3205/Yalad) the tribes listed, they were born of Egypt he is their originator.
Gen 10:15
Canaan fathered of the Hittites and numerous other tribes. Canaan was their originator
Gen 17:4 Abraham and Sarah had a child whose line would result in nations, Abraham is the originator or father!
Gen 19:37-38 Moab was born and went onto be the father (H1 Ab) of the Moabites, their originator and creator
Once a first son was born to a father and a group had begun, then that father was the father regarding genealogy of that
group as he had caused it to have life. People who joined the group may not have been biological sons or daughters
meaning that he wasnt their biological father, however he was the father of the group as its originator and creator.
Here we have added the word "originator" to the core definition of the word "father."
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

Part 1E A father is a creator

A human father creates his children
Gen 19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve
offspring (H2421) from our father.
H2421/Chayah: to live, have life
The H2421/Chayah came "from our father."
Gen 19:34 Then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.
The same words and description as vs32
The life came from the father
Genesis 17:20 As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful and
multiply him greatly. He shall father (H3205) twelve princes
H3205/Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
Ishmael will H3205/Yalad twelve princes
HCSB Numbers 26:29 Manassehs descendants: the Machirite clan from Machir. Machir fathered (H3205)

Proverbs 17:21 He who sires (H3205) a fool gets himself sorrow, and the father of a fool has no joy
A father can sire, H3205/Yalad, a fool
Summary:
H2421/Chayah: To live, have life
H3205/Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
Gen 19:32 The life, H2421, came from the father
Gen 19:34 The life, H2421, came from the father
Gen 17:20 Ishmael will H3205/Yalad twelve princes
Numbers 26:29 Machir fathered, H3205/Yalad, Gilead
1 Chron 26:6 Shemaiah had sons born, H3205/Yalad, to him
Proverbs 17:21 A father can sire, H3205/Yalad, a fool
Creator:

Cause to exist, bring into being, to result in something, to make something happen. To produce or
bring about by a course of action or behavior

A human father is a creator of his physical offspring, this may also include the offsprings spirit, if image or
likeness mean spirit.
If my seamen made an egg fertile that produced a human being then I created that human being because I am the cause
of the result.
Bible viewpoint: God created Adam and Eve. From then onwards God creates each individual along with the parents
who are each a creator. God and each parent are creators.
Opposing viewpoint: Only together are they creators because alone they cannot create therefore the definition of father
cannot include creator.
Response: Should we say that man is never a creator but only a co-creator because without something to use to create
another thing, a man cannot create anything. He cannot create noise or even thoughts without air or water! A creator
always needs something to use to create, in the case of a man he needs the egg of the womb to be a father. A man is
from birth a creator, once he causes his sperm to join with the females egg he has caused another to live, he has created
life, therefore a father is always a creator of children.
He was a man, a creator, with the potential to be a father, then he caused creation of a baby at which time he became a
father to the created baby, he created the baby he fathered the baby!
Cause and effect, the father caused and the newborn is the effect.

Part 2A God Creates the First Humans Adam and Eve

Parts 2A-C are in place to show that God is the creator of all human beings, that he directly participates in the creation
of every single one of us. It is important to take note of the Hebrew words Asah, Bara and Yatsar as these are words
that will occur numerous times throughout this study.
Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let us make (H6213/Asah) man (H120) in our image, in our likeness, and let
them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the
creatures that move along the ground."
27
So God created (H1254/Bara) man (H120 adam: mankind) in his own image, in the image of God he created
(H1254 Bara) him; male and female he created (H1254 Bara) them.
H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make
H1254 Bara: To create shape or form
Vs26 God is spirit and has no physical body that we know of, it would therefore seem right at this stage (although it
could be otherwise) that the image we are made in refers to our spiritual being not our physical being. (See also
Zechariah 12:1 and Hebrews 12:9)
Vs26 God made the spiritual and the physical bodies
Vs27 God created H1254/Bara mankind them definitely the first two human beings

Genesis 2:7-8 the LORD God formed (H3335/Yatsar) the man (H120 adam: man or mankind) from the dust of
the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man (H120) became a living being.
8
Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man (H120) he had formed
(H3335/Yatsar).
H3335 Yatsar To form, fashion, frame
Jehovah God formed H3335/'Yatsar the first man from the dust of the ground
Genesis 2:18 Then the LORD God made (H6213/Asah) a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and
he brought her to the man.
H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make
Jehovah God made H6213/Asah Eve
Summary:
H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make
H1254 Bara: To create shape or form
H3335 Yatsar To form, fashion, frame
Gen 1:26-27 God created H1254/Bara mankind them definitely the first two human beings
Gen 2:7-8
Jehovah God formed H3335/'Yatsar the first man from the dust of the ground
Gen 2:18
Jehovah God made H6213/Asah Eve
Jehovah God H1254 bara create, H3335 Yatsar form, H6213 asah make, Adam and Eve.
Theses words show that God is a creator of Adam and Eve, although creator is not yet tied to the word Father for God.

Part 2B God creates, makes and gives life to each and every individual human being
In the same way that God created Adam by the words H1254/bara create, H3335/yatsar form, H6213/asah make; We
will now see that he does the same when he brings the rest of the human race into existence
It could be argued that some of the scriptures are figurative but only a few. Jesus often referenced Psalms, Isaiah and
other figurative books or passages showing them to be fact (24 OT books in total.) In John 10:34 Jesus referred to
Psalm 82:6 as "Law": "Jesus answered them, "Has it not been written in your law.
This is a very long part including 45 scriptures, it may be easier to go to the summary.
God Creates H1254/Bara the People
Genesis 1:26-27 Quoted previously might also apply to all mankind as a whole although it does seem to refer to
H120 in the singular in this verse
Genesis 6:7 So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind (H120), whom I have created (H1254 Bara: To create,
shape or form), from the face of the earthmen and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and
birds of the airfor I am grieved that I have made (H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make) them."
Vs7 God created H1254/Bara mankind, so all human beings were created by God, he shaped them, he formed them.
God is not referring to being grieved at creating just Adam and Eve, rather all of mankind approximately ten
generations aftert the first two human beings, all of which God created according to this verse.
Jehovah God creates, shapes, and forms.
Psalm 51:10 Create (H1254 Bara) in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Asking God to create (H1254/Bara) a pure heart within him

Psalm 89:47 Remember how fleeting is my life. For what futility you have created (H1254 Bara) all men!
God created all men, not just Adam and Eve but all men
Psalm 104:30 When you send your Spirit, they are created (H1254 Bara), and you renew the face of the earth.
Jehovah sends his spirit and people are created H1254/Bara
Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember your Creator (H1254 Bara) in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble
come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"The teacher has been speaking since chapter 9:1 and is nearing the end of his diatribe.
Each person has a creator H1254/Bara they should remember, is this talking about God or the parents?
Isaiah 40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator (H1254
Bara) of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
Jehovah God the creator H1254/Bara of the ends of the earth
Isaiah 43:15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, Israel's Creator (H1254 Bara), your King."
Jehovah God is the creator of Israel
Isaiah 54:16 "See, it is I who created (H1254/Bara) the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a
weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc;
Jehovah God is the creator H1254/Bara of the blacksmith and the destroyer!
God H3335/Yatsar formed the People
Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says he who created (H1254 Bara) you, O Jacob, he who formed
(H3335 yatsar) you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine
H3335 Yatsar To form, fashion, frame
Jehovah made and formed H3335/Yatsar the people and knows us by name
Isaiah 43:6-7 I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons
from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth- everyone who is called by my name, whom I created
(H1254 Bara To create shape or form) for my glory, whom I formed (H3335 Yatsar To form, fashion, frame)
and made (H6213 Asah)."
Jehovah God created H1254/Bara, formed H3335/Yatsar and made H5213/Asah each individual human being
Isaiah 45:9-10 "Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker H3335 Yatsar--An earthenware vessel among
the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the potter, 'What are you doing H3335?' Or the thing you are making
H6213 Asah say, 'He has no hands'?
10
"Woe to him who says to a father, 'What are you begetting (H3205 Yalad?') Or to a woman, 'To what are
you giving birth (H2342 Chuwl?'")
God is our maker H3335/Yatsar
Isaiah 45:11-12 "This is what the LORD says the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker (H3335 yatsar):
Concerning things to come, do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my
hands?

12 It is I who made (H6213 Asah) the earth and created (H1254 Bara) mankind upon it. My own hands
stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts.
Vs11 Jehovah is the maker H3335/Yatsar of Israel, and He created H1254 mankind
Jehovah God is the maker, he made and created mankind. If this is figurative what else could it mean?
Jeremiah 10:16 He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the Maker (H3335 Yatsar To form,
fashion, frame) of all things, including Israel, the tribe of his inheritance the LORD Almighty is his name.
Jeremiah speaking: Jehovah is the maker H3335/Yatsar of all things, this in response to those who worshipped idols.
After saying all things, Jeremiah is specific regarding the tribe of Israel. God made Israel
Jeremiah 51:19 He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the Maker (H3335 Yatsar To form,
fashion, frame) of all things, including the tribe of his inheritance the LORD Almighty is his name.
Is Jehovah the maker of all things or not?
Is Jehovah the maker of the tribe of his inheritance or not?
If this is figurative what else can it mean?
These H3335 scriptures might seem broad or wideranging, the question is what else could they mean other than the
LORD God formed fashioned and framed each and every one of us?
God made, H6213/Asah, All People
Genesis 6:6 The LORD was grieved that he had made (H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make) man on
the earth, and his heart was filled with pain
H6213 Asah: to do, fashion, accomplish, make
This is the days of Noah, this is 10 generations from Adam and Eve. God had made man H120, or mankind, not just
Adam and Eve who created everyone else. God was grieved that he had made H6213/Asah mankind
Genesis 7:4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe
from the face of the earth every living creature I have made (H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make)."
God says he has made H6213/Asah every living creature.
Genesis 9:6 "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God
made (H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make) man (H120 adam: man or mankind).
God made H6213/Asah mankind in his own image
God is involved in making each and every human being, if not then what does this verse mean?
Deuteronomy 32:15 Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, he became heavy and sleek. He abandoned
the God who made (H6213 Asah) him and rejected the Rock his Savior
God made H6213/Asah Jeshrun
Job 4:17 Can a mortal be more righteous than God? Can a man be more pure than his Maker (H6213 Asah)
Eliphaz the Teminite talking to Job, says God is each mans maker H6213/Asah. He doesnt ask if a man can be more
pure than his parents, he clearly says that God is his maker.
Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made (H6213 Asah) me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life (H2421
chayah to live, have life). 6 I am just like you before God; I too have been taken from clay.

Elihu talking says he was personally made H6213/Asah and given life by the spirit of God, he then goes on to quote
Job claiming to be pure and without sin
Job 35:10 But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker (H6213 Asah), who gives songs in the night,
Elihu talking referring to God his maker H6213/Asah
Nehemiah 9:6 "Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.
6
You alone are the LORD. You made (H6213 Asah) the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry
host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the
multitudes of heaven worship you.
A prayer of the Levites says that Jehovah God made H6213/Asah the earth and all that is in it
Psalm 95:6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker (H6213 Asah);
Jehovah is our maker H6213/Asah
Psalm 100:3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made (H6213 Asah) us, and we are his; we are his
people, the sheep of his pasture.
Jehovah God made H6213/Asah us all
Psalm 104:24 How many are your works, O LORD! In wisdom you made (H6213 Asah) them all; the earth is
full of your creatures.
30 When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, H1254/Bara
Jehovah God made H6213/Asah all the creatures of the earth, not just Adam and Eve etc
Psalm 146:5-6 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, the Maker
(H6213 Asah) of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them the LORD, who remains faithful forever.
Jehovah God maker H6213/Asah of heaven and earth and everything in them
Proverbs 20:11-12 Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.
12
Ears that hear and eyes that see the LORD has made (H6213 Asah) them both.
Jehovah God has made H6213/Asah both the childs eyes and ears, he has made them both!
Proverbs 22:2 Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker (H6213 Asah) of them all.
Jehovah is the maker H6213/Asah of the rich and the poor people.
Isaiah 54:5 For your Maker (H6213 Asah) is your husband (H1166 Baal) the LORD Almighty is his
name the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
Jehovah is the name of our maker h6213/Asah
Why is God called our husband?? Maybe because a husband is a creator.
Perhaps a better term would be to say that the LORD rules over, or possesses us. Or because God makes possible the
conception and birth of all things? (Philo)
H1166 Baal 1) to marry, rule over, possess, own a) (Qal) 1) to marry, be lord (husband) over 2) to rule over b)
(Niphal) to be married
The LORD is our husband, see also Jeremiah 3:14 and 31:32 and Ezekiel 16:32 Hosea 2:2, 2:7, 2:16

God H7760/Suwn the People

Exodus 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes (H7760/Suwn) him deaf or mute?
Who gives him sight or makes (H7760/Suwm) him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?
H7760 Suwm: to put, place, set, make
God explains that he makes H7760/Suwn people deaf or mute or gives him sight. This is each individual not just Adam
and Eve. Always makes people blind, deaf, or mute is referring to the state at delivery, not necessarily later life,
because as we know God is the creator of all human beings, therefore he creates them deaf etc
Deuteronomy 10:22 Your forefathers who went down into Egypt were seventy in all, and now the LORD your
God has made (H7760 Suwm: to put, place, set, make) you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Jehovah God made H7760/Suwn the Jews numerous, he is the creator of their great numbers.
If the end is figurative then made could also be
Various God Creates People.
Genesis 28:3 May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become
a community of peoples.
Isaac talking to Jacob says may God make you fruitful may God increase your numbers.
He did not say you will make yourself fruitful while God watches
He did not say you increase your numbers while God watches!
Why if God has nothing to do with the births of people would Isaac make this statement?
Genesis 48:5 Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me here. And he said, Bring
them to me, please, that I may bless them.
Joseph said that God gave him his two sons, if this is so then God could also not give Joseph his sons, in which case it
is up to God whether Joseph has any sons or not.
Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life
(H2421 chayah to live, have life), I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.
A song of Moses
God brings to life.
Does this mean always or sometimes? If always then God always puts to death, this is not so.
If sometimes then he sometimes brings to life, could be referring to resurrection rather than birth
1 Samuel 2:6 "The LORD brings death and makes alive H2421; he brings down to the grave and raises up.
A prayer spoken by Hannah, she says that God makes people alive (H2421 chayah to live, have life)
A prayer or a song might not be giving doctrinal truth rather it is someone extolling God
1 Chronicles 27:23 David did not take the number of the men twenty years old or less, because the LORD had
promised to make Israel as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Jehovah God would make the people of Israel increase, not they would do it on there own
Psalm 103:13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him,
for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust
God knows how we are formed and that we are dust. We are formed and we are dust

Psalm 105:24-25 The LORD made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous for their foes,
25
whose hearts he turned to hate his people, to conspire against his servants.
Jehovah made the people to numerous, if he made them fruitful then he could also not have made them fruitful
Psalm 115:14 May the LORD make you increase, both you and your children.
Jehovah God will make them increase, him and his children, God is involved in all births
Psalm 145:9 The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made
10
All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints will extol you.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is
faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.
17
The LORD is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.
Vs9 LORD has compassion on all he has made meaning living beings.
Vs10 God made the saints
Vs13 God is loving to all he has made, namely people
Vs17 God loves all he has made, people
Ecclesiastes 5:18 Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in
his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given himfor this is his lot.
God is the giver of the days of life to the people of the earth
Ecclesiastes 8:15 So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to
eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him
under the sun.
God gives man the days of his life
Ecclesiastes 9:9 Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has
given you under the sun all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor
under the sun.
God has given us this meaningless life, we were not given it by only our parents
Isaiah 42:5 This is what God the LORD says he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread
out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life H7307 to those who walk on it:
Jehovah God gives life to those who walk on the earth
H7307 breath, wind
Jeremiah 38:16 But King Zedekiah swore this oath secretly to Jeremiah: "As surely as the LORD lives, who has
given us breath,
The LORD gives us breath
Ezekiel 36:11 I will increase the number of men and animals upon you, and they will be fruitful and become
numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will
know that I am the LORD.
Jehovah God will increase the number of men and cause them to be fruitful
How can God say he will increase the numbers of men and not be involved in each individual birth?

Ezekiel 36:37 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Once again I will yield to the plea of the house of Israel
and do this for them: I will make their people as numerous as sheep,
Jehovah God will make the people numerous as sheep
How can God make a statement like this and not be involved in each individual birth?

Ecc 8:15, Ecc 9:9, Is 42:5, Jer 38:16, Ez 36:11, Ez 36:37. All of these passages are in reference to God being our
creator and giving us life and breath etc in some way or another.
Each human being that has ever lived was created by God
45 literal and figurative scriptures say that Jehovah God: H1254 Bara create shape or form, H2421 Chayah: to live,
H3335 Yatsar to form fashion frame, H6213 Asah to do fashion accomplish, make, H7760 Suwm to put, place, set,
make, every human being.
We as people are flesh, spirit and soul. God created us from nothing therefore he created all three.
We are created in Gods image so either flesh spirit or soul is the image of God.
We know God is spirit therefore the image, it would seem, is at least the spirit
The evidence is so overwhelming that this Part proves beyond question that God is the creator of each and every human
being that ever existed. The terms listed form the definition of the term "creator." Later this study will show that when
God is called "Father," the basic meaning is that He is being referred to as our creator.

Part 2C God creates and gives life to people through mothers

We have seen that P2A-B show that God creates every human being that ever lives. We now see that he does this with
and through the mother of each child.
Genesis 4:1 Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth (H3205/Yalad) to Cain. She
said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth (H7069 Qanah) a man."
H3205/Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
H7069 Qanah To get, acquire, create
God had earlier created Adam and Eve who then pro-created to create Cain and Abel. Does this mean Adam and Eve
created Cain and Abel, or did God create Cain and Abel? (Pro-create is a term not found in scripture.)
We will see in Part 3A that part of being a father is to create and so Adam and Eve did both create Cain and Abel.
Here Eve, along with God, is the creator of Cain.
Genesis 16:1-2 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant
named Hagar; 2 so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having (H3205 yalad) children. Go, sleep
with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her."
If God can stop Sarai from having children then obviously he can cause it to happen, which he later did!
Genesis 30:6 Then Rachel said, God has vindicated me; he has listened to my plea and given me a son.
Because of this she named him Dan
God gave Rachel a son. If this is so could he also not have given Rachel a son.
Exodus 23:25-26 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take
away sickness from among you,
26
and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.
God made sure none would miscarry, shows he was involved in the births
Ruth 4:12 Through the offspring the LORD gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of
Perez, whom Tamar bore (H3205 Yalad) to Judah."
13
So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. Then he went to her, and the LORD enabled her to conceive,
and she gave birth to a son

Vs12 Did God give the offspring or did the woman?

Does this mean the offspring is Gods or the womans?
God is the creator of all people through women, we are Gods offspring we are our ancestors offspring
Vs13 If the LORD enabled her to conceive then he is part of the process that caused the birth, how can it be otherwise?
1 Samuel 1:5 But to Hannah he gave a double portion because he loved her, and the LORD had closed her
womb.
11
And she made a vow, saying, "O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and
remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days
of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head."
19 Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the LORD and then went back to their home at
Ramah. Elkanah lay with Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her.
20
So in the course of time Hannah conceived (H2029/Harah) and gave birth (H3205 Yalad) to a son. She
named him Samuel, saying, "Because I asked the LORD for him."
27
I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.
H2029 Harah: become pregnant
Vs5 Jehovah God closed Hannahs womb, which means he stopped her having children
Vs11 Hannah asked God to give her a son. God gave the son to Hannah
Vs19 If the LORD remembered Hannah then he could also not have remembered her
Vs20 God was involved in the birth of Hannahs child she had the boy because God gave it
Did God intervene in a place where he is usually not involved? P2A-C shows God is involved in every birth
1 Samuel 2:21 And the LORD was gracious to Hannah; she conceived (H2029 Harah: become pregnant) and
gave birth (H3205 Yalad) to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence
of the LORD.
Vs21 Jehovah God in his grace permitted Hannah to become pregnant and have children. This also means God could
not have allowed it. Here God is involved in individual births including each birth that Hannah had
Psalm 139:13 For you created (H7069 Qanah) my inmost being; you knit (H5526 Cakak) me together in my
mother's womb.
14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made (H6395 Palah) your works are wonderful, I know
that full well.
15
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made (H6213 Asah) in the secret place. When I was woven
(H7551 Rakam) together in the depths of the earth,
H5526 Cakak: To weave together
H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make
H6395 Palah: To be distinct
H7069 Qanah: To get, acquire, create
H7551 Rakam: Embroiderer, curiously work
Vs13 While a human being is inside its mothers womb it is being created by God
Vs14 The child is made by Gods works
Vs15 Made on the earth rather than in heaven. God made the child on the earth
God is babys creator, because it is happening inside a womb doesnt take away from God being the cause.
Ecclesiastes 11:5 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so
you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker (H6213 Asah) of all things.
God the maker of all things in the mothers womb

Isaiah 49:5 And now the LORD says he who formed (H3335 Yatsar) me in the womb to be his servant to
bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has
been my strengthH3335 Yatsar To form, fashion, frame
Jehovah God forms people in their mothers wombs
Isaiah 66:2 Has not my hand made (H6213 Asah) all these things, and so they came into being?" declares the
LORD.
9 Do I bring to the moment of birth (H3205 Yalad) and not give delivery?" says the LORD. "Do I close up the
womb when I bring to delivery H3205 Yalad?" says your God.
Jehovah brings to the moment of birth, he brings delivery. What does God mean when these words are spoken? Is he
speaking figuratively? Is he saying something that doesnt actually happen?
Zechariah 12:1 This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens,
who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms (H3335 Yatsar) the spirit of man within him, declares:
God forms the spirit of each human being!
At what point during or after pregnancy does God form the spirit of a person?
Which ever point it is, we know that God forms it!
Summary:
Gen 4:1
Here Eve, along with God, is the creator of Cain.
Gen 16:1
God can stop Sarai from having children then obviously he can cause it to happen, which he later did
Gen 30:6
God gave Rachel a son. If this is so could he also not have given Rachel a son.
Ex 23:26
God made sure none would miscarry shows he was involved in the births
Ruth 4:12
God is the creator of all people through women
1 Sam 1:5
God was involved in the birth of Hannahs child she had the boy because God gave it
1 Sam 2:21 God is involved in individual births including each birth that Hannah had
Ps 139:13-15 While a human being is inside its mothers womb it is being created by God
Ecc 11:5
God the maker of all things in the mothers womb
Is 49:5
Jehovah God forms people in their mothers wombs
Is 66:2
Jehovah brings to the moment of birth, he brings delivery.
Zech 12:1
God forms the spirit of each human being!
H2029 Harah: become pregnant
H3205/Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
H3335 Yatsar To form, fashion, frame
H5526 Cakak: To weave together
H6213 Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make
H6395 Palah: To be distinct
H7069 Qanah: To get, acquire, create
H7551 Rakam: Embroiderer, curiously work
God creates all people and gives life to children through mothers, each person is created by God through mothers. God
is the creator of our spirit and of our physical bodies and uses mothers in that process.

Part 3A God: The Father and Creator of all Human Beings

We saw in P2A Jehovah God H1254 bara create, H3335 Yatsar form, H6213 asah make, Adam and Eve.
We saw in P2B that God is the creator of all human beings. 45 literal and figurative scriptures say that Jehovah God:
H1254 Bara create shape or form, H2421 Chayah: to live, H3335 Yatsar to form fashion frame, H6213 Asah to do
fashion accomplish, make, H7760 Suwm to put, place, set, make, every human being.

We saw in P2C that God through mothers uses the same and similar words to create all people.
Now we see that when we refer to God as Father it includes being a creator. This is an extremely critical part of this
study because it means when God is called a Father He is always being called a creator.
The same words that help define the word creator also help define the word father:
H1254 Bara create, H3335 Yatsar to form, H6213 Asah make,
Along with H3559/Kuwn Established, prepared, made ready. H4639 Maase: To do, or make. H7069/Qanah: To get,
acquire, create.

Here we join the word creator for God, to the word Father for God. They are in conjunction.
Deut 32:1 Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak, and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
6 Do you thus repay the LORD, you foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father (H1/Ab), who created
((H7069/Qanah) you, who made (H6213/Asah) you and established (H3559/Kuwn) you?
H3559/Kuwn: Established, prepared, made ready,
H6213/Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make
H7069/Qanah: To get, acquire, create
Vs6 There are four specific Hebrew words in the second half of Vs6 - Ab Qanah Asah Kuwn - Or: - Father creator
made prepared.
Vs6 Jehovah God reminds the people that he is their Father, who created them, made them, prepared them.
We are created by our Father who is Jehovah God
A son is created by his father, here God uses both descriptions to identify the creation and the birth.
God is a Father in a parallel way to the definition of earthly father in Part 1A-C.
Isaiah 64:8 Yet, O LORD, you are our Father (H1 Ab). We are the clay, you are the potter (H3335/Yatsar) we
are all the work (H4639/maase) of your hand
H3335 Yatsar: To form, fashion, frame
H4639 Maase: To do, or make
Hebrew: Jehovah ab chomer yatsar maaseh yad
English: LORD father clay fashion work hand
Jehovah God is the Father of these people
The Father used the clay (the dust of the ground) to form people
Father is written in conjunction with creating people
Isaiah 66:9 Do I bring to the moment of birth (H3205 Yalad) and not give delivery?" says the LORD. "Do I
close up the womb when I bring to delivery (H3205 Yalad) ?" says your God.
H3205 Yalad to bear, bring forth, to beget a son
If God is bringing the moment of birth, He is creating them and becoming their Father simultaneously.
Genesis 5:3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named
him Seth.
6 When Seth had lived 105 years, he fathered Enosh.
9 When Enosh had lived 90 years, he fathered Kenan.
12 When Kenan had lived 70 years, he fathered Mahalalel
When Adam had lived (H2421 chayah) 130 years, he fathered (H3205 yalad) a son in his own likeness, in his own
image; and he named him Seth.
Here we see that Adam Heb chayah, (to live have life,) he then Heb yalad, (to bear, bring forth, to beget) Seth.

These two words are together in this way referring to father-son-births in 16 verses of Genesis 53-32, down to Noah
and his three sons. Another 14 verses in Genesis 11, and another 4 in the OT. Thirty four verses say that a father would
H3205 Yalad to bear, bring forth, to beget a son (also H3209). When a man becomes a father he becomes a creator, he
creates.
Malachi 2:8 you have violated the covenant with Levi," says the LORD Almighty.
10 Have we not all one Father (H1 Ab)? Did not one God create (H1254/Bara) us?
Why do we profane the covenant of our fathers (H1 Ab) by breaking faith with one another?
H1254 Bara: To create shape or form
Vs8 Jehovah God admonishes the priests
Vs10 Jehovah God tells the priests that they all have one Father
Vs10 Jehovah God says that one God created them, Jehovah God
Two statements paralleling God the Father with a God who is their creator
We have one heavenly father and creator.
Hebrew: echad ab echad el bara
English: one father one god created - meaning we are created by our father (God).
Summary:
Deut 32:6 God is their Father, who created them, made them, prepared them
Isaiah 64:8 The Father used the clay (the dust of the ground) to form people
Isaiah 66:9 If God is bringing the moment of birth, He is creating them and becoming their Father simultaneously.
Genesis 5:3-32 When a man becomes a father he becomes a creator, he creates.
Mal 2:8 We have one Father, God, who created us
H1254 Bara: To create shape or form
H3205 Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget.
H3335 Yatsar: To form, fashion, frame
H3559/Kuwn: Established, prepared, made ready,
H4639 Maase: To do, or make
H6213/Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make
H7069/Qanah: To get, acquire, create
The same three words (and four others) that are used in Part 2B, to describe how Jehovah creates each human being are
used here to describe how the Father creates each human being. These words make up the definition of the word Father.
The Father H6213 Asah made, H1254 Bara created, H3335 Yatsar formed every human being
The Father, Jehovah, is the creator of all human beings.
Father includes meaning to create. Therefore God, when he creates our flesh, spirit, and soul, is doing what God as a
Father does. He is therefore Father of the entire human race spirit and soul, and co physical father with the human
father as shown in section Part 1.
Here we have added the word "creator" to the core definition of the word "father."
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

Part 3B God the Father of all Human Beings

This is the final part of the building of the defintion for the term "father."
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator
Deuteronomy 32:1 Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
18 You deserted the Rock, who fathered (H3205/Yalad) you; you forgot the God who gave you birth.
19
The LORD saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters.
Vs1 of this chapter Moses is addressing all people of the earth.

H3205 Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget

Vs18 The Rock is a name of God.
Vs18 God who fathered all the people (H3205 Yalad) of the earth, in the same way as in P1 and P2
Vs18 God who gave all of them birth, He gave them all birth because He is their literal Father.
Vs19 Jehovah God who was angered by his sons and daughters.
These statements specifically say that Jehovah God is the Father of all people. He gave them all birth and he is their
Father regarding genealogy, they are his literal sons and daughters.
Psalm 89:18 Indeed, our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.
20
I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
26
He will call out to me, 'You are my Father (H1 Ab), my God, the Rock my Savior.'
Vs18 The LORD Jehovah is speaking
Vs20 Jehovah says I have anointed David.
Vs26 David will call out acknowledging that Jehovah is his father, his God, his rock and savior
From Davids relationship standpoint Jehovah=Father=God
Isaiah 63:14 This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name.
16 But you are our Father (H1 Ab), though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge
us; you, O LORD, are our Father (H1 Ab), our Redeemer from of old is your name
Vs14 The speaker is referring to Gods people
Vs16 The speaker says Jehovah God is the Father of the people. We have already seen in earlier that the father of a
group of people or a clan is a literal father, we have also seen in Deuteronomy 32 that God is the literal father of all the
people of the earth.
Malachi 1:6 "A son honors his father (H1 Ab), and a servant his master. If I am a father (H1 Ab), where
is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?" says the LORD Almighty.
"It is you, O priests, who show contempt for my name.
God hears the people acknowledging him as their father then asks where is the respect due to him?
God is the literal father of all human beings
Summary:
Deut 32:6
Psalm 89:18
Isa 63:14
Mal 1:6

God who fathered all the people (H3205 Yalad) of the earth
From Davids relationship standpoint Jehovah = Father = God
The speaker says Jehovah God is the Father of the people
God is the literal Father of all human beings

Here is a comparison chart of words used for God the creator compared to words used for God the Father, also a
creator. It identifies the fact that when God is called by the name "Father" we are saying that he created us using the
words shown.
God as the Creator of all People

God as the Father of each and every person

H1254 Bara create shape or form,

H2421 Chayah: to live,
H3205/Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
H3335 Yatsar to form fashion frame,

H1254 Bara: To create shape or form

H5526 Cakak: To weave together

H6213 Asah to do fashion accomplish, make,

H3205 Yalad to bear, bring forth, to beget a son

H3335 Yatsar: To form, fashion, frame
H3559/Kuwn: Established, prepared, made ready,
H4639 Maase: To do, or make
H6213/Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make

H7069 Qanah To get, acquire, create

H7760 Suwm to put, place, set, make,

H7069/Qanah: To get, acquire, create

God the Father gave all people their births. He is, according to the OT definition, the Father of every human being ever
fathered or created with the following definition.
Father: He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator
This is one of the most critical parts of this study. What has been identified is the core definition of the term "father" in
the bible. When God is referred to as a "father" he is always being referred to as He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a
giver of life, originator, creator. Not sometimes but always.
When anyone in the bible, or outside of the bible, calls God by the term "Father" they are saying that God created them.

Part 3C God as Father of His People

Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says he who created (H1254/Bara) you, O Jacob, he who formed
(H3335/Yatsar) you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are
mine.
H1254 Bara: To create shape or form
H3335 Yatsar To form, fashion, frame
God is the creator of entire countries just as he is the creator of individual human beings
God created and formed Jacob and Israel just as he forms us in our mothers womb Psalm 139:13
1 Chronicles 29:10 So David blessed the LORD in the sight of all the assembly; and David said, "Blessed are
You, O LORD God of Israel our father (H1 Ab), forever and ever.
David blesses Jehovah God of Israel his Father forever.
Jehovah God is Davids father, just as his ancestors are in Part 2 and Jesse is in Ruth 4:17.
Heb: barak Jehovah elohiym yisrael ab
ad owlam owlam
Eng: bless LORD God
Israel father for ever ever
God is the father of Israel just as Mizraim is the father of the Ludites, Genesis 10:13
Exodus 4:22 Then say to Pharaoh, 'This is what the LORD says: Israel is my firstborn (H1060) son,
23
and I told you, "Let my son (H1121 ban) go, so he may worship me."
Israel was a community including men, women, children, old, and young
Not all of them were firstborn not all of them were men.
Israel was not a living being born to another, although each person has God as their Father.
The rights cannot be transferred as we dont have two living beings to transfer from and too, however Israel certainly
seems to have special rights throughout the OT
This scripture is a metaphor used by God when threatening Pharoah. God wanted to express the importance of his
people and compared them with the importance to Pharoah of his son.
God personifies Israel as a firstborn son.
God has fathered other nations before the nation of Israel.
Perhaps Israel is the firstborn because others will follow the father of that tribe
Jeremiah 31:9 They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back. I will lead them beside
streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble, because I am Israel's father (H1 Ab), and Ephraim
is my firstborn (H1060) son.

Ephraim was Josephs second son after Manasseh but received the rights of the firstborn because Joseph foresaw
Ephraims descendants as being greater than Manasseh.
God is also the father of the nation of Israel his firstborn son Ex 4:22.
This is part of a chapter where God is telling of the rebuilding of Israel and the bringing together of Ephraim with
Judah of which David was king. God is stressing the importance of each of them.
Father was not a term that the OT people commonly used to refer to God and so the term father is not heavily
supported by scripture in the OT (11 scriptures in P5-P7) but becomes clearer in the NT
Summary:
God created the tribe of Jacob and the nation of Israel, he is the God and Father of each and every person of Israel
regarding genealogy, he calls Israel figuratively his firstborn son to signify the importance of that group of people.

Part 4A Adam is a son of God regarding genealogy

We have already seen that every human being on the planet has God as a Father regarding genealogy, now we have to
ask is Adam an exception?

Genesis 5:1-3 This is the written account of Adam's (H121/Adam) line. When God created (H1254/Bara) man
(H120/Adam), he made (H6213/Asah) him in the likeness of God.
2
He created (H1254/Bara) them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created,
(H1254/Bara) he called them "man (H120 adam)."
3
When Adam had lived 130 years, he had (H3205 Yalad) a son in his own likeness (H1823 demuth: Likeness),
in his own image; and he named him Seth.
H120 Adam: man or mankind
H121 Adam: the first man
H3205 Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
Vs1 In Hebrew Both 120 and 121 look like the same word.
Vs1 Likeness or resemblance or image could refer to
A/ God being a spirit, we are or have a spirit.
B/ Behavior
C/ Other??
Vs2 God created the first two human beings and called them man or mankind
Vs3 Seth is created in the likeness of Adam just as Adam was in the likeness of God
Vs3 The birth of Seth from Adam, is paralleled with the birth and creation of Adam from God.
We know that Adam is the father regarding genealogy of Cain, Cain is the son of Adam.
The definition of a father re genealogy;
He, him, masculine, parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator,
fits Adam in reference to Seth it also fits God in reference to Adam!
Summary:
Because God is not referred to in the OT as Adams father, does not mean God is or is not his Father.
God as creator did the same things a father does he H6213 Asah made, and H1254 Bara created, etc Adam.
We have seen that all human beings have God as their Father regarding genealogy.
Are we to think that all human beings except Adam have God as a father regarding genealogy?
We have to go to the NT Luke 3:38 to confirm that God is the Father of Adam.
Once we confirm Adam is a literal son then the question becomes, is Adam the firstborn? If not, who is? Cain?
No human being is referred to as Gods firstborn in the OT. We have to go to the NT to see that Jesus is/was the
firstborn Son of God the Father.
There is an in depth analysis 02B Jesus the Firstborn of God before Creation linked here that shows that God fathered
Jesus before Adam and that Jesus is His "Firstborn."

Part 4B The Fatherless

KJV H3490 Yathowm: an orphan, fatherless

Wordcount 42: fatherless 38, fatherless child 3, orphan 1
Exodus 22:22 "Do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan (H3490)
Dont take advantage of an orphan
Job 24:3 They drive away the orphan's (H3490) donkey and take the widow's ox in pledge.
People persecute the orphan
Jeremiah 49:11 Leave your orphans; I will protect their lives. Your widows too can trust in me."
God will protect the orphan
Exodus 22:24 My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become
widows and your children fatherless (H3490)
The children became fatherless when there father was killed. Before that time they had a father.
Deuteronomy 10:18 He defends the cause of the fatherless H3490 and the widow, and loves the alien,
him food and clothing.

giving

God defends the cause of the fatherless

Deuteronomy 16:11 And rejoice before the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for
his Nameyou, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, the Levites in your towns,
and the aliens, the fatherless H3490 and the widows living among you.
People of all kinds are followers of God
Psalm 109:8-12
8
May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership.
9
May his children be fatherless H3490 and his wife a widow.
10
May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes.
11
May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.
12
May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children.
Vs8 The writer says of the wicked man that these things might happen to him
Vs9 May his children be fatherless.
Does this mean the father goes from being the father to not being the father?
Summary:
The term fatherless is not strictly possible. We all have a father whether they are alive or dead. P2 tells us that our
dead ancestors are our fathers therefore we are never father less, or without an Ab, we have many Ab fathers including
God. No scripture says a child is without a H1 Ab,
So what does H3490 mean? The better term would be orphan, or child without its immediate biological earthly male
parent who has either died or does not take care of the child.

Part 4C God the figurative father

Although it is true that human beings can and are figurative fathers, because God is the Father and creator to all human
beings, He can never be considered a figurative father.

P4D Originator of a class or profession

Genesis 4:20 Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father (H1 Ab) of those who live in tents and raise
livestock.
Adah is the figurative father of those who live in tents, perhaps he was the first or one of the first to do so although
there were certainly people who were not his descendants who also lived in tents
Genesis 4:21 His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father (H1 Ab) of all who play the harp and flute
Jubal is the figurative father of those who play the harp and flute, it is almost certain that all harp and flute players were
not Jubals descendants
Summary:
Jabal was not literally the first to live in a tent or to raise livestock, his brother not the first to play the harp and flute,
unless he invented them. The term father was perhaps given to them as they were the first to do it very well or
perhaps they set a trend.

P4E A term of respect and honor

Judges 17:10 Then Micah said to him, "Live with me and be my father (H1 Ab) and priest, and I'll give you ten
shekels of silver a year, your clothes and your food."
Micah asked the younger Levite to be a father and priest to his family, shrine and ephod
Judges 18:19 They answered him, "Be quiet! Don't say a word. Come with us, and be our father (H1 Ab)
and priest. Isn't it better that you serve a tribe and clan in Israel as priest rather than just one man's
household?"
Micah has his gods stolen by a group of 600 men who had his priest become their father and priest
1 Samuel 24:11 See, my father (H1 Ab), look at this piece of your robe in my hand! I cut off the corner of
your robe but did not kill you. Now understand and recognize that I am not guilty of wrongdoing or
rebellion. I have not wronged you, but you are hunting me down to take my life.
David calls Saul father
2 Kings 2:11-12 As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of
fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.
12
Elisha saw this and cried out, "My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!" And Elisha
saw him no more. Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them apart.
Elisha cries my father my father which may be to Elijah or may be to God. If it is to Elijah then it is a term of respect
to the prophet from the pupil
2 Kings 6:21 When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha, "Shall I kill them, my father? Shall I kill
them?"
The King called Elisha father as a term of respect
Job 29:16 I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger.

Job said he was the father of the needy

Summary:
People gave the title of father and priest, the term father perhaps because the priest took over many duties of the
biological father.
David calls Saul father as a term of respect, or perhaps because Saul was the father of the tribe?

P5A Does the Psalms say God became the Father of Jesus
The following Psalm 1 is a fairy controversial passage with opposing viewpoints, here is a brief look at it.
Psalm 2:1-12
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
2
The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his
Anointed One.
3
"Let us break their chains," they say, "and throw off their fetters."
4
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
5
Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
6
"I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill."
7
I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son today I have become
(H3205/Yalad) your Father.
8
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
9
You will rule them with an iron scepter you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
10
Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11
Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.
12
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a
moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
H3205/yalad to bear, bring forth, beget
Vs1 This question is because of the futility that men should plot against God's anointed King.
Vs2 They plot against the LORD (God) and his anointed one (David).
Vs3 The people speaking
Vs4 David the Psalmist speaks, referring to God and how He sees the foolishness of men to oppose this ordinance.
Vs5 God rebukes the people
Vs6 God has installed and established his King, David. God is talking about another not about himself
This as a prophecy is in reference to Jesus Christ who is also the anointed and a King.
Vs7 David says I will proclaim the decree of the LORD
God says You are my son today I have become your father
On a certain day David became the Son and God became the Father. Before this day God was not the father of David
and David was not the son, David did not exist before this day!
As a prophecy, the same can be said about Jesus Christ.
Vs8 God tells David to ask God for the nations to be made David's inheritance.
Before David asked he did not have.
Vs11-12 Serve the LORD, and kiss the Son. Two different actions or commands.
Serve God and kiss King David
Take refuge in the Son, King David.
Conclusion:
The passage Psalm 2:1-12 in its original sense discusses God and His anointed King David.
My belief is that it is also prophetic and applies to Christ.
Because of the direct parralels it shows that Jesus is not, will not be, and cannot be God.

Part 5B Only the Father is God

These two OT passages look at the idea that only the Father is God.
Deuteronomy 32: 6 Is this the way you repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your
Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?
39 See now that I myself am He! There is no god (H430/Elohiym) besides me. I put to death and I bring to
life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.
Vs39 There is no God besides the father
Here Jehovah God the creator continues telling the people there is no God besides him, the father!
The Father alone is Jehovah God.
Jehovah God brings to life, what does this mean other than he is the father of all people?
If God the Father says there is no God besides the Father how can Jesus the Son be God?
Malachi 2:8 10 you have violated the covenant with Levi," says the LORD Almighty.
10 Have we not all one Father (H1 Ab)? Did not one God create (H1254 Bara created) us? Why do we
profane the covenant of our fathers (H1 Ab) by breaking faith with one another?
Vs8 Jehovah God admonishes the priests
Vs10 Jehovah God says that they all have one Father, God.
Vs10 Jehovah God says that one God created them, Jehovah God
Two statements paralleling God the father with a God who is their creator
We have one heavenly father and creator.
Hebrew: echad ab echad el bara
one father one god created
meaning we are created by our Father God according to the other scriptures in P5, P6, P7.
Summary:
If we have only one God and that is the Father, then Jesus the Son cannot also be God!

P5C The role of a father

The father also has a role which includes authority, teaching, training, helping, providing for, caring for and loving
their children.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
7
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up.
Vs7 Fathers should teach the OT commandments to our children
Proverbs 4:1-4 Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.
2
I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.
3
When I was a boy in my father's house, still tender, and an only child of my mother,
4

Summary:
OT instruction of how fathers should teach and train children

Summaries and Final Conclusion:

0A
The basic biblical definition provided of the word "father" will be shown to be biblically accurate based
on the OT and the NT.
Father: He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator
P1A

A father (H1/Ab) is the closest male parent.

The father H3205/yalad, to bear, bring forth, beget, his son.
Several of the words for the definition stated at the beginning are found here. A father is always a he, him
and masculine this will be the case in all parts of this study and always the case each time the term "father"
is used. Here we specifically identify the word "parent" which we understand to be the closest biological
parent. Also the father is identified as "a giver of life." Both the definitions of "parent" and "giver of life"
will continue throuhout this study. The Hebrew words H1/Ab and H3205/Yalad are used on numerous
occassions througout.
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

P1B

Therefore our grandfather, great grandfather and any direct male ancestor are biblically all our fathers, H1/Ab.
Here we have added the word "ancestor" to the core definition of the word "father."
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

P1C

Once a first son was born to a father and a group had begun, then that father was the father regarding
genealogy of that group as he had caused it to have life. People who joined the group may not have been
biological sons or daughters meaning that he wasnt their biological father, however he was the father of
the group as its originator and creator.
Here we have added the word "originator" to the core definition of the word "father."
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

P1E

A human father is a creator of his physical offspring, this may also include the offsprings spirit, if
image or likeness mean spirit.

P2A

Jehovah God H1254 bara create, H3335 Yatsar form, H6213 asah make, Adam and Eve.
Theses words show that God is a creator of Adam and Eve, although creator is not yet tied to the word
"Father" for God.

P2B

Each human being that has ever lived was created by God
45 literal and figurative scriptures say that Jehovah God: H1254/Bara create shape or form,
H2421/Chayah: to live, H3335/Yatsar to form fashion frame, H6213/Asah to do fashion accomplish, make,
H7760/Suwm to put, place, set, make, every human being.
We as people are flesh, spirit and soul. God created us from nothing therefore he created all three.
We are created in Gods image so either flesh spirit or soul is the image of God.
We know God is spirit therefore the image, it would seem, is at least the spirit
The evidence is so overwhelming that this Part proves beyond question that God is the creator of each and
every human being that ever existed. The terms listed form the definition of the term "creator." Later this
study will show that when God is called "Father," the basic meaning is that He is being referred to as our
creator.

P2C

God creates all people and gives life to children through mothers, each person is created by God through
mothers. God is the creator of our spirit and of our physical bodies and uses mothers in that process.

P3A

Here we have added the word "creator" to the core definition of the word "father."
Father:
He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator

P3B

Here is a comparison chart of words used for God the creator compared to words used for God the Father,
also a creator. It identifies the fact that when God is called by the name "Father" we are saying that he created
us using the words shown.
God as the Creator of all People

God as the Father of each and every person

H1254 Bara create shape or form,

H2421 Chayah: to live,
H3205/Yalad: To bear, bring forth, beget
H3335 Yatsar to form fashion frame,

H1254 Bara: To create shape or form

H5526 Cakak: To weave together

H6213 Asah to do fashion accomplish, make,
H7069 Qanah To get, acquire, create
H7760 Suwm to put, place, set, make,

H3205 Yalad to bear, bring forth, to beget a son

H3335 Yatsar: To form, fashion, frame
H3559/Kuwn: Established, prepared, made ready,
H4639 Maase: To do, or make
H6213/Asah: To do, fashion, accomplish, make
H7069/Qanah: To get, acquire, create

God the Father gave all people their births. He is, according to the OT definition, the Father of every
human
being ever fathered or created with the following definition.
Father: He, him, masculine: parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator
This is one of the most critical parts of this study. What has been identified is the core definition of the term
"father" in the bible. When God is referred to as a "Father" he is always being referred to as He, him,
masculine:
parent, ancestor, a giver of life, originator, creator. Not sometimes but always.
When anyone in the bible, or outside of the bible, calls God by the term "Father" they are saying that God
created them.
P3C

God created the tribe of Jacob and the nation of Israel, he is the God and Father of each and every person
of Israel regarding genealogy, he calls Israel figuratively his firstborn son to signify the importance of that
group of people.

P4A

Because God is not referred to in the OT as Adams father, does not mean God is or is not his Father.
God as creator did the same things a father does he H6213 Asah made, and H1254 Bara created, etc Adam.

We have seen that all human beings have God as their Father regarding genealogy.
Are we to think that all human beings except Adam have God as a father regarding genealogy?
We have to go to the NT Luke 3:38 to confirm that God is the Father of Adam.
The term fatherless is not strictly possible. We all have a father whether they are alive or dead. P2 tells
us that our dead ancestors are our fathers therefore we are never father less, or without an Ab, we have many
Ab fathers including God. No scripture says a child is without a H1 Ab,
So what does H3490 mean? The better term would be orphan, or child without its immediate biological earthly
male parent who has either died or does not take care of the child.
P4B

P4C

Although it is true that human beings can and are figurative fathers, because God is the Father and creator
to all human beings, He can never be considered a figurative father.

P4D

Jabal was not literally the first to live in a tent or to raise livestock, his brother not the first to play the harp
and flute, unless he invented them. The term father was perhaps given to them as they were the first to
do it very well or perhaps they set a trend.

P4E

People gave the title of father and priest, the term father perhaps because the priest took over many duties
of the biological father.
David calls Saul father as a term of respect, or perhaps because Saul was the father of the tribe?

P5A

The passage Psalm 2:1-12 in its original sense discusses God and His anointed King David.
My belief is that it is also prophetic and applies to Christ.
Because of the direct parralels it shows that Jesus is not, will not be, and cannot be God.

Final Conclusion:
God is the Father of every human being that has ever existed with this definition.

Giver of life: A father is a giver of life when he gives his sperm to be fertilized with the female egg?
The process would not work without the fathers sperm unless God created another process
Originator: Someone who creates new things, causes a specified beginning, create or initiate, instigator. The one
from which something comes.
Creator:
cause to exist, bring into being, to result in something, to make something happen. To produce or
bring about by a course of action or behavior

From this point we can progress to the NT and find out that
A/ The NT fully supports that God is the Father of every individual human being per the definition identified here.
B/ God the Father of Jesus with the same definition.
C/ Because of these facts, Jesus is not God.
