Before giving blood make sure you.

Have plenty of liquid in the 24 hours before donation, especially in warmer


weather
Drink at least 3 good-sized glasses of water/juice in the 3 hours before donation
Eat something in the 3 hours before donating: savoury and salty foods are best as
they help to maintain and restore your blood volume more rapidly
Bring ID, including at least one form of photo identification
Weigh 50kg or more
Are feeling well and healthy no sore throat or runny nose
QLD and WA only: Bring a signed parental consent form if you under 18 years
