Importance
Finances are very important in the movie Industry. Having the
funding for a film can be the difference between the films being

Deadlines
Availability of equipment
Availability of personnel (size
of team; roles)

In the media industry deadlines are very important. Making

deadlines for filming days and getting the equipment for those days
can be a challenge for even the most experienced people in the
industry. If someone were to miss an important deadline whilst
filming, there would have to be delays and the person may risk their
job. Having the right available equipment and personnel Is
important, because planes may change during production, so extra
staff and equipment may be needed at the last second to make the
film end result look good.

Sourcing
Equipment and extra casting can be can be purchased from
www.slvision.co.uk/

Facilities:

Production equipment
Post-production equipment
facility houses

Importance
Production equipment is very important. Having good lighting sound
equipment and set can be the difference between a good production
and a bad one. Small bits of equipment like tripods, a good sound
capturer and light rigs are very important for stopping dubbing
sound and the camera shaking.
Post production equipment is also very important, as these facilities
will help the film to be good for the end result. Having editing house
hire and sound editing hire will make post production a lot easier
because the equipment will be there already.

Materials:

Original materials,

Archive and library materials

Photo-library materials
Sound library materials,
Internet
Audio
Script (upload an example)
Interviews
Costumes

Importance
It is important to have original material because if you use
materials that other people may have used, you could get
prosecuted for copy right. Another reason why using original
materials is a good idea is, because it keeps the production unique
and new for viewers who may watch the production afterwards.
Having good photo and sound libraries can also be a great benefit to
making the film believable and good, also they give more options
for when choosing a soundtrack because with a library more options
are available.
Internet access can be a big benefit towards pre-production,
because it gives more availability to different companies so that
casting and getting equipment is easier. Audio and the script make
a lot of difference to a film. Without good sound effects and music;
the film would miss excitement and an atmosphere. Having a good
script Is Important to the films outcome, because the script is the
foundation to the film and can effect an actors performance
whether Its good or bad.
Interviewing cast and crew is important to make sure they are the
correct person for the job. This make take a long time or a short
time, but getting the process correct is important to how the actor
will perform as the role. Costumes are important for each character.
Every costume in a film has been carefully put together to fit the
personality of the character.

Sourcing
Original material is filmed by the director but archive footage for
productions can be found at libraries on the Internet such as
https://archive.org/index.php this website provides a wide range of
photo and film ideas to look through.

Locations:

Recces (Upload an example)

Limitations and risks:

Distance, access, cost, weather

Importance
Having a location recce is very Important to making the films
Atmosphere feel correct. Having a file of different locations and
there risks and limitations really help when it comes to choosing a
good location, because you can see what location has the correct
conditions for the scene.
Sourcing
Locations can be found on the internet via different websites and
good maps.
Codes of
practice and
regulation:

Location permissions
Clearances
Copyright
Health and safety
Insurance

Importance
Having clearance and permission for the chosen location is very
Important. Keeping a film legal and not copying or keeping
production safe can be very bad. This is because if someone gets
injured or theres no clearance for a location, the police will stop
filming or the person whos injured could be a vital part or sue the
people running the film. Keeping things legal will help the filming
and production process go to plan.
