Lining Up Quadratics
Objective: Students will connect factored form and standard form of
the quadratic expression
Essential Question: To construct a graph of a unique quadratic function,
how many minimum points do you need and why is the factored form
helpful to accomplish these minimum points needed?
Notes: Define axis of symmetry, vertex, y intercepts, x intercepts of
quadratic function
Video Notes: Youtube, Graphing Quadratics Given Factored Form
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7gQUCZRmEE
Reflection: How does the factored form of a quadratic expression tie
together linear and quadratic components? Write your own example
and provide the graphs of the linear components and quadratic
components similar to MVP
Ive Got a Fill In
Objective: Students will tie all three quadratic expressions together,
standard, vertex and factored form and justify the benefits/constraints
of each quadratic expression
Essential Question: What are the benefits/constraints of each quadratic
expression?
Notes we will discuss in class
Reflection: Develop a puzzle piece to demonstrate each type of
quadratic expressions connection to one another.
