top to bottom.
I can name all uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
I can read quarter 1, quarter 2, and quarter 3 high-frequency
words by sight.
I understand that words are combined to form sentences.
I can point to individual words one by one when reading.
I can pronounce, blend, and segment words into syllables.
I can orally blend the beginning, middle, and end sounds in a
word.
I can use letter-sound knowledge to decode the sound of each
consonant.
I can identify and produce rhyming words.
I can identify the short sounds for the 5 major vowels (a, e, i, o, u)
I can read appropriate emergent-reader texts, maintaining an
appropriate pace and using self-correcting strategies when
reading.
