On Nov. 5 (Thursday), please proceed to the Yuchengco Museum,


second floor of the Yuchengco building in the DLSU Taft campus. As
the museum opens at 8:00 am, attendance for section EG will be
checked at that time by Dr. dela Cruz in the lobby. For section C42,
please show up at the venue at 11:00 am on the same day. The
class will be given a 45-minute tour of the museum, after which the
students are free to mill around on their own.

Format of the paper: 3-4 pages double-spaced, on short bond paper.

Guide questions:
Answer the following questions in numbered form; please retype the
questions:
1. What theory of art is Danto evincing in The Artworld? Explain in
terms of the difference between IT and RT.
2. What mistake does Testadura make concerning Rauschenbergs
bed? How does RT account for this mistake?
3. Why does the artist (e.g. Andy Warhol) fail, really and of necessity,
to produce a mere real object?
4. How is the retroactive enrichment of entities in the artworld
possible? Explain in terms of the art-related pairs of predicates that
Danto discusses in part IV.
5. During the class visit to the Yuchengco museum, take down notes
about specific artworks you encounter and which make a particular
impression on you (note their title, artist, physical features, and

possible meaning). Which objects are explicable in terms of IT?
