TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Prospect Hill Academy Charter School, Cambridge, MA
History Teacher
January June, 2015
Classes:
United States History II (two sections): 11th-12th Grade
Historiography: From Black Power to #BlackLivesMatter (one section): 11 th Grade
Local History (one section): 11th Grade
I took over two general-level (non-Advanced Placement) US History II (post Civil War) classes in January,
2015. I developed curricula and lesson planscollaboratively with the Humanities director and AP US History II
teacherfor my classes to cater to my students' learning styles and strengths. In June, I taught two separate
classes: From Black Power to #BlackLivesMatter and Local History, as well. These courses involved a large
amount of student-directed work, and production of historical work; I hoped to push students to become
independent thinkers, learners, and historians.
Malden High School, Malden, MA
Long Term Substitute Social Studies Teacher
September November, 2014
Classes:
College Preparation Modern World History (two sections): 10 th-12th Grade
Honors American Law (one section): 11th-12th Grade
Advanced Placement Psychology (two sections): 12th Grade
I taught students with a wide variety of learning styles and school-learning aptitude. From classes with a majority
of students speaking a non-English language at home, to senior Advanced Placement students, the variety was
both a challenge and a point of growth. The range of subjects I taught was a challenge, but allowed me to work
across subject matter and use my brain in multiple ways every day.
