Why take MUN?

MUN has proved to be such an asset (even in a highly
technical major). During my time in MUN I learned how
to research well and write papers quickly, which is
advantageous in general ed classes. More than that it
gave me the presentation skills necessary to help me
succeed in presentations in my major, at a previous
internship, and to simply be heard and understood in
class discussion. Furthermore, it gave me a general
sense of international relations that play a key role in
understanding events that continue to unfold. I am so
thankful that I chose to do MUN in high school and
highly recommend it!
Erin Griffin

I learned to see the world from a perspective

beyond what I read in news articles and blogs.
Being in MUN, I realized that there always two,
three or ten sides to a story and in particular
those stories that we read of our history. I
learned that taking actions out of context is
like living with permanent tunnel vision and a
maximum zoom and to really understand the
whole picture, we have to take several steps
back and look widely.
Dinali Mallikage

MUN helped me improve my public speaking,

research, and writing skills. It has also helped
me get involved in college, which has lead to
opportunities for me as a leader in several oncampus organizations. It also helped me stand
out in group interviews, which led to my
current job as an RA. Learning how to work
with other people, which is heavily emphasized
in MUN, has also helped me in my RA position
and has been well received in interviews.
