Charlotte-Rose de Caumont de La
Force(16541724)
She was aFrenchnovelist and poet.

She was the daughter of Franois de Caumont de La Force.

In her childhood, we know only that she met King Louis
XIV in 1660, and that two years later her mother was
imprisoned against her will in a convent in Bordeaux.
She had a long affair with the much younger Charles Briou,
but her family and his father intervened to have the marriage
annulled.
In 1697, She wrote Persinette and various other fairy tales
while imprisoned in Gercy-en-Brie after writing some satirical
Christmas verses and under suspicion of having an affair with
the Dauphin.
When I studied about the author, I understand the story better
because the author use one of her life part to create this
story. She was once imprisoned and separated from her lover

Plot

Exposition :Rapunzels father stole a

flower, called Rapunzel, from Dame
Gothel. When Rapunzel born, Dame
Gothel took her and locked her in the
tower which had no doors and stairs
only a window. The only way to go inside
the tower is climbing up Rapunzels hair.

Conflict (individual vs individual):

One day, the prince heard Rapunzel
sang. He found the tower and tricked
Rapunzel to let her hair down. He
climbed up to the tower, made her
acquaintance, and asked her to marry
him. She agreed. Together they plan for
escaping.

Rising Action: She innocently says that her

dress is getting tight around her waist which
indicated that shes pregnant. In anger, Gothel
cut off Rapunzel's hair and casts her out into
the wilderness.

Climax: When the prince visited Rapunzel,

Dame Gothel let the severed hair down to haul
him up. He found Dame Gothel instead of
Rapunzel. She pushed him and he fell on
thorns, and became blind.

Resolution: For months, he wandered

through the wastelands of the country. Finally,
he found Rapunzel and their children, the
twins( a boys and a girl). Rapunzel tears
restored his sight. He leaded her and their
children to his kingdom, where they lived

What I learned from the story.

1. Everyone wants their freedom
2. Miracle will happen if we dont give up.
3. Love is not for receiving but for giving.
