Light of Night
The photograph takes place during the closing of the day. Although the night is reaching
in on the buildings, there are still cars and lights on, capturing the signs of life. The image
signifies that even though the sun has faded, and darkness has taken over the day, the lights in
the image serves as a replacement for the sun.
The streets lights reflect on the roads and on the sidewalk with a variety of colors. The
traffic light is glittering red, creating a reflection on the road and on the vehicles in opposing
directions that have stopped by the white line, adding time to their planned destinations. The
streets are busy with a variety of cars and a variation of colors of vehicle driving in multiple
directions. Theres a black car at the front of two other cars, driving away from the photograph
while theres two white cars behind the black vehicle. The black car is the leader symbolizing
power and leadership while the white cars symbolizes followers. On the sidewalk, the lights are
on, forming a path of light through the darkness of night. There are no signs of people present,
only the lights give a sense that people are hiding inside their vehicles and in their cars. There is
lights present peeking through the windows of an enormous building accompanied by a variety
of smaller buildings, which indicate that there are human beings inside.
The photograph is taken from a high altitude perhaps through the window of a skyscraper
or tower. The lights in the image have a significant impact on the image, creating a contrast

between light and dark, and how human beings can create light even though the most powerful
source of light is gone through the hours of night.
