- Put hundreds chart on the IWB and ask students to
tell me any patterns they know of. - Ask a student to come up and click on all the multiples of 10. Then do 5. Ask students to explain why this occurs. - Ask a student to pick a number by clicking on it. Then count by 10s from that number (7, 17, 27). - Have a student come up and count by 2s, (one student, one row). THEN count starting at 1 and going up by 2 (notice that these are grey). - In pairs, students chose another pattern to colour and present it to the class. - Students begin colouring another pattern (a hard one) with 3 numbers highlighted and swap with a partner. Their partner needs to work out the pattern and finish colouring. Both present it to the class. - Complete p. 129 - Fast finishers Create patterns for students which have more than one answer and which could have multiple answers. Have them (using different colours) identify the different rules which apply.
