Activity one:
Guess what it is?
Students Level: grade two

Justification for choosing Activity:

This activity is easy and simple for grade two age due to the size of cards
which is small, easy portable, and visually attractive. The features are ; first
is social which is allow child to communicate with others by listening to them
and speak, increased share things together and view his idea and the new
words as a result it establishes a successful relationship more easily through
the activity. Second feature is that this activity is flexible which allows the
teacher to change it to the need of the child. The Third feature is promoting
the listening skill which is effective because the child uses other senses with
listening like focusing on what is being said and trying to understand the clue
that the other students give to him. Accordingly it is engaging the child to
listen to the others, paying attention, trying to think, remembering the
words, and listening together which will develop cognitive and develop
language awareness. Moreover, this kind of activity makes the child curious
about the things behind the cards which proves that he loves learning.
However, the main purpose of this activity is to make child interested and
learn at the same time.

Objectives of the activity:

By completing the activities, the student will be able to:
1- Record his or her knowledge using questions.
2- Obtain information about different kind of animals.
3- Collect new Vocabulary.
4- Follow directions by listening due to answering a clue.
The purpose of activity:
1- Encourage the child to communicate.

Before doing this activity teacher must introduce the name of the animal. Put
students into 3 or 4 groups. Then teacher tells the students the instructions
by sitting and listening to the description of cards by him/her or someone
else. For example, its a tall animal, has a long neck and lives in Africa, which
animal is it? Then each team discusses before giving the answer which
motivates the whole team to answer and win. Teachers or students both can
give each other clues and showing the card encourages students to guess an
answer each time, until
one
group wins.

Activity two:
Puppet is saying
Students Level: Grade three.
Justification for choosing Activity:
Puppet is saying is fun and an interesting activity for grade one because
children like to draw and are curious to know his/her final picture that he/she
made by hearing. It motivates them to speak by using the puppet which is
allowing them to open their imagination, speak together, and remembering
shapes and letters and as a result it improves their social skills which are
important for effective listening and feeling safe and confident. So the
purpose of this activity is reinforcing conceptual development. It also allows
the child to follow directions and concentrate by listening to the puppet
which that make child feel proud and think that he can speak or he can act
freely with his partner according to Elizabeth Johnson Taylor who said listener
can gain a sense of their importance and that their lives have meaning and
value.(Donald M. Friedman), child paying attention which improves
competence and performance of listening, using many senses at the same

time for instance; listening and drawing develop its listening, fine motor skill,
verbal, and cognitive skill. As well as it improves the child knowledge and
understanding, the child predicts things that will be said hence promoting
listening skills. This activity is to the use of prepositional. Moreover, it allows
the teacher monitoring the understanding of the child which shows the level
of the child listening, and checking prior knowledge.
Objectives of the activity:
By completing the activities, the student will be able to:
1- Identify specific shapes and letters.
2- Recognize shapes by creating original art with shapes.
3- Analyzing the sizes of object.
4- Follow directions by listening.
5- Increasing the childs interaction with his partner.
The purpose of activity:
1- Use prior knowledge when describing a shape.
2- Develop thinking skill through listening.
3- Checking prior knowledge.
4- Develop the child imagination through describing a picture.
5- Give a chance for child to express, talk and be more social.
6- Link between what children hear and draw it.
Instruction:
Prior the activity the teacher must be sure that all students have an accuracy
of the name of shapes. Next the teacher should model the activity with Sara
by bringing a puppet and tell her Mr.Moka says start to draw a big circle in
the middle of paper with two small circles on the top of the big circles. Then
draw the letter L in the middle of circle. The last step is to draw the letter O
at the bottom of the circle. Saras response to the teacher (Puppet) I drew a
surprised face. It is a student centered due to his communication with his
partner. Teacher has an option to give a description for the child or keep it
free which is better to develop child imagination. The purpose of making this
activity will motive the child and save one image in his/her brain. After
modeling the activity the teacher should put the students into pairs and give
them each a puppet. However, each pair will switch their roles and practice.
At the end each pair can share his picture to the class. This activity will
encourage real communication and through it the child can gain a lot of
vocabulary due to focus in language.

Activity three:
Listening grid
Students Level: grade two.

Justification for choosing Activity:

This activity involves all children in the classroom which is student centered.
It is encourages communication which allows the child to improve his
listening skill activity by repeating sentences and reaction with the question.
It is including a lot of question with repetition which is allowing child to focus
on the language which that is necessary to make listening active. According
to Rachel Naomi Remen who said; the most basic and powerful way to
connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most
important thing we ever give each other is our attention (Listening Skills)
which that really happens in the activity when child ask while other is
listening. Moreover, it increases the number of vocabulary by listening to
each other and paying attention. It exchanges real information by telling
facts like: do you like cats? The response of child will be I like cats or I dont
like cats. However, this activity facilitates listening by providing the chart
with pictures which allows the child to concentrate on his partners question
and understand it. Also it develops specific language points and
interactional skills. Furthermore, it challenges student to listen carefully to
his partner due to complete a chart that give a child a feeling of
achievement.

2- Use the vocabulary of animals in order to put it in question.

3- Increase the childs interaction with his partner.
4- Feel confident to answer.
The purpose of activity:
1- Used prior knowledge (vocabulary to ask question).
2- Develop listening skill through repeating.
3- Encourage child to talk and participate.
4- Link between what children hear and draw it.

Instruction:
Teacher should introduce some specific vocabulary. Firstly, the teacher
should model a pattern of questions that she want students to learn for
instance do you like fish? Students will probably respond with; yes I like fish
or No, I dont like fish. If the teacher prefers he/she can tick true box on the
chart or false box on the chart. Then teacher can then distribute papers for
each pair in the classroom and telling one student to ask a question while
the other student answers, after that they can switch the positions. At the
end the teacher can ask the student how many animals they like or dont
like.
